New AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. Promo Image Features 'Quake'; Plus Updated Synopsis For The Midseason Première

With just 2 weeks to go until a brand new episode, the Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. Twitter account has released a new image of Quake (Chloe Bennet) and an in-depth synopsis for "Bouncing Back"...

We've had a brief logline already, but this extended synopsis provides us with a much better idea of what to expect when Marvel's flagship series returns to ABC in 2 weeks time. Once again the formation of the Secret Warriors is strongly teased, and it's made very clear that the creature now wearing Grant Ward's skin (who we recently found out is actually supposed to be Hive) is going to be the new big bad for the remainder of season 3.

In the mid-season premiere, “Bouncing Back,” in the aftermath of his trip to Maveth, Coulson is more determined than ever to get to Gideon Malick and put an end to Hydra once and for all. Meanwhile, Daisy and the team encounter more Inhumans who have powers like they’ve never seen before, but will they be friends or enemies of S.H.I.E.L.D.?

No longer able to keep powered people out of the public eye, Daisy and Mack press forward to find more Inhumans, building a team of secret warriors whose mission is to train and protect powered people. However, the growing presence of Inhumans proves to be a polarizing issue, and the S.H.I.E.L.D. team must face conflicting public opinions and defend their team from groups who have a more extreme ideology.

The divide between those who want to protect Inhumans and those who seek to destroy them is constantly widening, and Hydra, now strengthened by Grant Ward, looms once again. However, Ward is no longer the same villainous traitor that they once knew, and the team faces an all-new enemy, whose motivations, goals and strengths are unclear. Uncertain about who (or what) they are facing, the stakes for S.H.I.E.L.D. and their assembled group of Secret Warriors are higher than ever, bringing some members of the team closer together and driving others apart. Will S.H.I.E.L.D. be able to stop one of the most powerful Inhumans to walk the Earth?

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. returns for a game-changing second half of Season Three, TUESDAY, MARCH 8 (9:00-10:00 p.m. EST) on the ABC Television Network.

So AOS is having is own Civil War....

As much as this show thinks it has its own identity and os growing more independent from the MCU, its still "surviving off of the teet of the Avengers" and altering whatever storyline is prevalent in the films to fit their show. Yes it has Inhumans (still wondering how that will connect to the 2019 film), but it's not like MCU NETFLIX which is truly it's own corner of the universe. But AOS has gotten better. I enjoy it a lot. The story telling has become damn good.

I like that MCU Netflix is in the same universe as Avengers but it has its own stakes that dont need to be involved with or feel inferior to the conflicts in the films.

@hufflepuff69 - I know but I wish it had its own storylines that were separate more. I still love it though. Like in the comics, there are multiple storylines for different charcaters, teams and what not that dont intersect all the time. I like AOS so much, I wish it was more independent in some areas.

@ComicsBornAndBred - I agree. i wish they write a Shield show that can stand on it own and it own story lines.

Daredevil was was great and did need to consistently reference much of any the of MCU at large.

Let good characters and story tell carry most of the weight and MCU light as a little boost for fan serve. People like the first Iron-man because it was a good story and was told well and it didn't gimmicks hold up.
