The Cast of AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. Choose Their CIVIL WAR Sides

While the Arrowverse cast picks their sides in the fight between Batman and Superman, the cast of Marvel's Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. are taking sides in Cap's war with Iron Man.

In an interview with Variety, the cast of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. took a few minutes to pick their sides in the war between the Sentient of Liberty and the Iron Avenger. While it should be a no brainier that the Son of Coul would be on #TeamCap, Clark Gregg's answer may just surprise you!

Actress Elizabeth Henstridge says she'd personally side with Captain America, while she reckons her character, Jemma Simmons, would side with Iron Man, which is fitting as she perceives the Inhumans as a major threat. Meanwhile, actor Luke Mitchell sees himself siding with Iron Man while his character Lincoln would side with Cap.

Now, here's where things get interesting, Clark Gregg, a known Captain America fan himself, surprisingly admits to being neutral! "It’s like Thanksgiving, there will be a lot of people I love in a very compact environment who start out with good intentions and then end up trying to murder each other. So, I think, not until I get there and sample the turkey and see who’s saying what am I going to be able to choose a side." He feels like the whole situation is "just upsetting to think about."

Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War finds Steve Rogers leading the newly formed team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. But after another incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability, headed by a governing body to oversee and direct the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers, resulting in two camps—one led by Steve Rogers and his desire for the Avengers to remain free to defend humanity without government interference, and the other following Tony Stark’s surprising decision to support government oversight and accountability.

I like how Marvel and DC are taking different approaches to their versus fights. While the teams for Marvel are based on "who you support," the teams for DC are based on "who you think will win".

Not a judgment, just an observation.

@Erik10101 - Considering Civil War is based on heroes choosing sides in a moral/politcal conflict and Batman v Superman is well Bats VERSUS Supes its pretty clear why the two approaches are different.

Just an observation of course.

@Erik10101 - even though the DC fight ends in a teamup. I'm excited for BvS, but we all know the fight isn't even the significant part if the film. The two heroes stopping Lex will be more important I think.

I hope the mid-credit scene is Dr. Strange talking to The Watcher about the possible ramifications of Civil War's outcome.

@CopperCrow - Isn't The Watcher with FOX? Even if he isn't, I'm pretty sure Stephen Strange is still a doctor.

Now, i'm not gonna call Marvel copycats like BlackStar wants, but....damn.....kinda hard NOT to for the marketing of this particular film. Not very original. Then again, neither is DC's idea behind a cinematic universe, soooo.....real recognize real???
