DAREDEVIL: BORN AGAIN - New Evidence Suggests The Show Won't Take Place During The Blip After All

Yesterday, photos from the set of Daredevil: Born Again appeared to suggest that at least part of the series will take place in 2020, right after The Blip. However, some new evidence may debunk that idea.

Cameras are rolling on Daredevil: Born Again in New York City and that means we're getting a steady stream of set photos from the Disney+ series.

While Charlie Cox has yet to don the Man Without Fear's costume in front of the waiting paparazzi, he has been seen in his lawyer get up. Yesterday, we shared photos of the actor standing in front of a church bulletin board dated "March 15, 2020," apparent confirmation Daredevil: Born Again will take place during The Blip.

Thanos snapped his fingers in 2018's Avengers: Infinity War before those he wiped from existence were brought back in 2023.

That five-year period has only really been explored on a surface level by Marvel Studios, so there was quite a bit of excitement for Daredevil: Born Again to delve into that time. Heck, it might even go some way in explaining the apparent absence of Foggy Nelson (Elden Henson) and Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll).

However, one eagle-eyed fan has done some digging and discovered that a Google Maps Street View image captured in August 2021 shows the same bulletin board...with the exact same 2020 date!

The building owner simply hasn't updated it, meaning this isn't a prop used by Marvel Studios. It's just a sign in the background we'll either barely be able to see or, if we do, it will probably be changed with a minor VFX touch-up in post-production.

Hawkeye brought The Kingpin into the MCU and ended with him being gunned down by Echo. With both Wilson Fisk and Matt Murdock expected to appear in Maya Lopez's upcoming TV series, common sense said from the start that this show would pick up where those two left off.

Daredevil: Born Again is set to hit Disney+ sometime in 2024.

This was evident from the jump as a number of folks under the tweet highlighted this immediately

@GhostDog - its an old out of date sign, but that doesn't mean Marvel isn't making the show for that time period as well.

Ah well. It would've been cool to see Daredevil vs Ronin (suit actor, not Renner)

@comicfan100 - Would be quite cool to see Daredevil vs quite a few people. But we getting Fisk and Punisher again, which has already been done. Pointless.

Just the slowest of slow news day stories huh? We can go into his trailer next and see if he ate corn the night before a shoot?

I like surprises but I can't imagine how this show is going to be any good

Now if it all about Matt being outed in the press and the ramifications that has on him practicing law I'm in

End it or climax it with him going to prison and Punisher intervening somehow like in the Brubaker comics

Loosely connected to Netflix I'm in.

@0bstreperous - Why so negative on this show? I mean, I am disappointed Deborah Ann Woll and Elden Henson aren’t in this and you may have said the same thing in a different article but I have not seen or heard enough to have a strong opinion about how it will be The fact that they have three excellent actors who were great in their roles in their the Netflix shows returning has me leaning towards expecting a high quality series. Time will tell, of course

@RolandD - I'm sorry for the negativity I want the best for the show

I'm afraid for the state of comic book movies because I lost comic books about 10 years ago

We need stuff as good as Iron man 1 and the Netflix shows were that good

If it becomes assembly line... sigh

@0bstreperous - Got it. You are concerned it will follow the trend. I never thought we would get a continuation of the show or a new version of the show whatever the case may be so I am trying to be happy with what we get. That said, I will be very disappointed if it’s not good, perhaps more so than anything in the pile except Superman:Legacy.

OK, so being dusted isn't the reason for lack of Karen. What's the new reason?

Would be awesome if we get a scene of Matt having dinner with someone as the blip is happening and we get an awkward scene of Matt talking by himself not knowing what's going on🤡😂

It makes the most sense for this to happen during the Blip. Would explain the lack of Foggy and Karen, and it thematically works with the idea of having a bridge between Netflix DD and MCU DD.

Alternatively, I like the idea of DD getting "snapped" being the reason Kingpin is able to rise again, and this show exploring their reunion. Of course, this version wouldn't account for the lack of Foggy and Karen, but it would be an interesting dynamic between DD and Kingpin.

I think they will use the blip to justify Matt and Karen not appearing.

Or maybe they're just utilising existing locations? Why create a sign when a weathered one from what feels like a similar enough event (given that country shutdown period especially and the building back up to "normalcy") already exists in the needed location? That is a wierd waste of VFX money for a touch-up, when VFX money for the shows is already far more limited than the films, and over a simple letter-replacement sign.

March 15 2020 has to be my favorite day of all time, because on March 16 everything changed in trems of precautions, measures and lockdowns and whatnot.

I don't blame the church for not changing the sign, since they probably had other things to take care of in the months (and years?) after.

Ok, can we figure out the terminology? The snap is when half the world was taken out of existence. The blip is when they were brought back 5 years later.

I get what they meant, but it's annoying considering 2020 as the blip when that's an event that won't happen for another 5 years.

Scott Glenn is mid-seventies now - but I'd still love to have him back as Stick.

He could just be an old Stick.

An old, gnarly Stick.

@BillyBatson1000 - He was already old IMHO, but I would love to see him back in the role. He was awesome and has trained in martial arts his whole life.

@RolandD - Yep. Even with the age thing, he's exactly how I imagined the character - physically - vocally - from the comics. A class act.
