EDITORIAL: 5 Marvel Cinematic Universe TV Series GliderMan Wants to See

With The Defenders currently filming, Inhumans to begin filming in March and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. doing better than ever, it might be hard to imagine what more fans could want. It seems like the one property fans are wanting the most is a show revolving around Moon Knight, and fair warning--you won't be seeing him on this list. While I certainly wouldn't complain, I've never read much about Moon Knight, therefore he's just not a character I'm passionate about.

I tried to go for truly unique ideas that also contain the heroes I love. Without further delay, let's dive on in.

Strange Tales

I present Strange Tales as more of a concept than an adaption of the old comics. What I think was neat about them is that they were usually stand-alone sci-fi or horror stories, though they later went on to inlude characters like Nick Fury and Doctor Strange. I tried to think outside-the-box when considering what John Ridley's mystery project for Marvel could be, which led to this idea.

Think along the lines of American Horror Story or American Crime Story. Each season of Strange Tales would be a self-contained story set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This could not only show Marvel's range, but also flesh out the history of the universe and introduce awesome concepts. From horror-esque characters like Man-Thing, Dracula or Werewolf By Night, to further exploring the past with the wizard Merlyn or Western-era gunslinger Kid Colt, or perhaps something more space-set like a story set on another Yggdrasil's 9 realms or a super secret NASA mission to Mars. Anything is possible, and might even be a good avenue to bring in Agent Carter for a cameo.

Ghost Rider(s)

Robbie Reyes' MCU introduction in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. was a series highlight, but nobody would have guessed the show would introduce the real Ghost Rider as well in Johnny Blaze. I've already laid out my pitch in another article, but let's just say I think a spin-off should include both badass gentlemen and be brought to us by Netflix.

Howard the Duck (cartoon)

Look, I know what you're thinking. Howard the Duck is nobody's favorite character, and the whole point of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is to bring our favorite comic characters to live-action, not cartoon. I completely agree. However... every rule needs an exception, and I happen to think a HTD cartoon set in the MCU would be the perfect exception.

Howard is the definition of a ridiculous character, but humor is kind of *his thing.* Comedic shows like Family Guy or The Simpsons or Rick & Morty have used this ridiculousness to their advantage and became hit shows. With the right talent, this show could do the same, and bring outlandish elements to the screen that the movies never would.

The Daily Bugle

Getting to see behind-the-scenes of the Daily Bugle was one of the best parts of Sam Raimi's original Spider-Man trilogy. In the comics, the Bugle is one of the mainstays of the entire Marvel Universe, not just Spider-Man, and it should be the same in the MCU. The show could not only offer backstory as to why J. Jonah Jameson hates vigilantes so much, but as we've seen in shows like The Office or Parks & Recreations, office humor is often the best humor. Marvel... make it happen.

Ms. Marvel (Kamala Khan)

A Ms. Marvel show has been in the rumor mill now for some time, and I refuse to let it be buried. With Islamaphobia seemingly on the rise everywhere, we need a series that shows Muslims are just as American with heroic potential as the rest of us. Now, I've always said Marvel should take their time in introducing new properties, so I definitely wouldn't advise releasing this show until after Captain Marvel is released in 2019, for Kamala Khan's origin's sake as well. Khan is a family-friendly character too, so ABC would be the perfect channel. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. already has inhumans popping up everywhere via tainted fish, so the pilot episode practically writes itself.

There you have it: the top 5 shows I want Marvel to make. Let me know what you think in the usual place!
