This weekend in Dublin many attended the yearly Dublin Comic Con where Patrick Warburton was one of many guests who held a panel. As one would expect he discussed his lengthy career and one fan in particular asked Warburton about his role as Rick Stoner in Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D and wondered if he would return for the show's final season given it will involve time travel thus allowing him to appear. His answer was this:
"Yeah I'm coming back. I shot some stuff recently with those guys. That was a lot of fun"
It can be assumed this was information Warburton wasn't meant to divulge but his return makes sense because of the time travel involved following Season 6's finale where the team appeared in 1930s New York. This information along with the rumoured appearance of Hayley Atwell as Peggy Carter indicates the team will indeed be jumping to various time periods of S.H.I.E.L.D history Warburton previously first appeared as Stoner in pre-recordered footage in the Season 5 episodes All the Comforts Home and Option Two.
