THE FALCON AND THE WINTER SOLDIER: Here's Your First Look At Sam Wilson As [SPOILER]

We've known this was coming for months, but today's episode of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier finally saw Sam Wilson undergo a major transformation, and the MCU will never be the same again...

Sam Wilson is Captain America.

Boy, it feels good to say that. After today's superb episode of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has a new Cap, and if what we've seen from him thus far is any indication, there's no one better to wield the shield. Of course, with a new moniker comes a new costume, and we now have your first proper look at the former Falcon suited up as Captain America.

For many of you, this won't come as a surprise. It was several months ago that an action figure and promo art featuring this version of Cap first found its way online, while we've seen several other toys in recent months, as well as last night's spoilery TV spot. That's a shame in some ways, but we have known since Avengers: Endgame that Sam's story was leading to this...Marvel Studios just decided to stretch it out a little!

Regardless, there's no faulting this costume, especially as it nicely pays homage to the source material and looks awesome on Anthony Mackie. He follows in the footsteps of Chris Evans and Wyatt Russell, and it honestly doesn't seem unfair to say that this costume tops both of theirs.

Check it out below and let us know your thoughts in the comments section!

Ok Spoilers!
Not a bad finale. Black Cap’s speech was really good, just went on a tad too long, but needed to be said I suppose for them/us to buy into his cause. Mackie always goes in 100% with his line delivery! I’m not sold on the new costume yet though, maybe if it was slimed down a bit on the shoulder’s but is not a bad 1st attempt.
So Sharon, I’m 90% sure (hope) she’s a skrull, as I don’t believe her motivations are truly lined up with her character from TWS and Civil War. I’m reserving about 10% though she’s probably the real one, as they chose not to reveal her as a skull like they did another character at the end of WandaVision. I hope it’s not a loose thread that gets wrapped up in Phase 5 though. I’m intrigued now.

Man, I never thought I could love a Captain America more than Steve but Sam definitely put himself on the map in that finale.

We might've lost T'Challa but man that speech was perfection. I really hope they do that funeral scene in BP2 and have Sam be a present as the new Cap.

The imagery of him floating down into the crowd was such an angelic moment. Kind of had an Angel by Alex Ross feel to it.

He looks amazing. Loved the episode except for that Sharon reveal story wise. I get her turning to a life of crime to survive but the Madripoor episode is weird now with her. She put out a hit on Sam, Bucky, and Zemo then just led them to the dude making the serum who caught a bullet by Zemo? Huh?

Gawdamn this suit looked so good!!

Disappointed Walker isn't as unhinged as e05's after-credits scene made him out to be but SO happy with how his U.S. Agent suit looked!

TWO crazy comic-accurate costumes that both looked so good on screen.

Sharon is about to play the double-agent character that Val is in the comics and I'm not sure how I feel about it.

All in all, this was am incredible series and I think I want more series for depth, and movies for events within the MCU.

Either way, MAKE MINE MARVEL!

@SKetCH - I think Walker having to save the GRC people kinda snapped him out of it

“I think I want more series for depth”

Outside of moments with Isaiah Bradley, I thought this show was pretty shallow. Especially in how the villains were portrayed. Could’ve made this show a lot more interesting given the themes they were looking to explore.

@regularmovieguy - This is my problem with Marvel as a whole. You can tell the filmmakers/showrunners have really interesting and thought-provoking themes they want to sink their teeth into and explore. But at the end of the day, they’re working for Disney, the largest media corporation in the world. And being so big means they want to alienate as few as possible, and exploring more than the surface level of these issues will likely turn off quite a bit of people. So they don’t let them. Which is why despite the ideological undercurrent a lot of these projects have, they still feel really safe, and as you said, shallow.
