Honestly doubt she will be cast, she is a rising star in film, maybe if it leads to a movie, but are these shows one and done or multi season, cause i really doubt she would do multi seasons
bkmeijer2 - 5/11/2020, 3:18 AM
I think she would make a perfect Rogue, but this is answer is suspicious either way
Kumkani - 5/11/2020, 5:20 AM
At the moment but she's the best actress I think for the role but we'll see how it goes.
gremlin22 - 5/11/2020, 6:04 AM
I'd like to see her as the She-Hulk.
KWilly - 5/11/2020, 6:04 AM
I think Marvel has no intentions of hiring anyone else for the role but her. She'd be perfect. They're just hoping to find an opening in her schedule.
mgeoff88 - 5/11/2020, 6:43 AM
That means she has already talked with Marvel Studios.

I'm using that response any time someone asks me a personal question from now on

I really wish media outlets would stop asking Hailee Steinfeld about starring in Hawkeye. It is 100% out of her control. If she has a non-compete clause in her contract with AppleTV she legally CAN'T appear in any show on Disney+, a competing streaming service. It's that simple. So talking about the possibility of being on Hawkeye puts her in an extremely uncomfortable and embarrassing position with her employer, AppleTV.

Hawkeye was originally going to be a film before it was moved to Disney+. And it looks like its main purpose is to introduce Kate Bishop. If Hailee Steinfeld was the first choice for Marvel Studios to play the character there would had been no problem getting her even with her streaming contract with AppleTV. Because films & streaming services are not DIRECT competitors. It's only a problem now because Disney+ is involved.

Sometimes I wonder if we're working with outdated information here. Perhaps Hailee Steinfeld was Marvel's choice for Kate Bishop while Hawkeye was planned as a film. And somehow, the media got wind of her being their first choice and played it up as a casting eventuality. But once the show went to Disney+, everything changed and the media still can't let the story go.

In order to get Hailee now, Disney & Apple have to negotiate. And there most likely will have to be concessions on Disney's part because Apple holds all the cards in any discussion. What will Disney concede to get the actress and is it worth it to the company when they can avoid all of this by going with a different actress. Best case situation for Disney if they want Hailee this badly would be to wait out her contract with AppleTV and that means putting Hawkeye on hold for who knows how long.

@String - One other thing to consider is playing Kate Bishop raises her star power significantly. This, in turn, can only help the appeal of Dickinson. In my opinion a deal would benefit both companies.
String - 5/11/2020, 2:47 PM
@Thanson - Very true & a good catch. It definitely would help Dickinson. It's a win-win situation if AppleTV works with Disney like Sony is doing with Spider-Man in the films. I just hope Apple sees it that way.

However, there is a silver lining to any possible negotiation. Bob Iger built a good partnership with Apple when he was on their Board of Directors. He stepped down due to a conflict of interest when Disney+ premiered. Its possible his Disney/Apple relationship and Kevin Feige's very good negotiation skills that could bring about a deal. It's really all in AppleTV's hands at the moment. That and if Hailee is actually interested in the role.
String - 5/11/2020, 4:04 PM
@String - I say a good catch because its an angle I hadn't considered. However, a non-compete clause in Hailee's contract makes a legal hassle for Marvel & Apple, even if they wanted to work together. Once you release an actor from it -you set a precedent that any actor could take advantage of in the future. And I think Apple lawyers would strongly advise both companies not to go down that route.

With that said, anything is possible. Feige worked a wonder getting Sony on board to produce Spider-Man films. Iger, the same, when it came to negotiating a deal with Fox that allowed that company to get bought.

"using what some could argue is a pretty bizarre excuse! "

Literally the smallest amount of research on the subject of this article would make it clear that she's referencing her career as a singer. Just a modicum of effort to have it make sense, but instead we get "pretty bizarre".

Anyway, I really hope Marvel finds a way to get her on as Bishop, because she's perfect. If it doesn't work out, though, Kitty Pryde is always an option.

Just give it to Odeya Rush and move on.
