Marvel Studios has released a new minute-long TV spot for Loki that's airing in the U.S. at the moment, and there are plenty of glimpses ahead to what comes next in the Disney+ series.

In this preview, we see the God of Mischief in a futuristic city of some sort before taking what looks like a pretty crazy train journey. We also hear Loki ponder the true meaning of good and evil, while getting a glimpse of a flaming sword - which is Laevateinn, the character's mystical, ancestral blade from Norse mythology and the comic books - and another shot of what looks like Vormir.

Oh, and as we mentioned in the headline, this is a critics TV spot for Loki, so if you pay close attention around the 0:35 second mark, you'll spot a familiar name alongside ComicBookMovie.com!

In our review of the first two episodes of Loki, we said: "Nothing can prepare you for Loki, a mind-bending dive into the Marvel Multiverse that takes everything you thought you knew about the MCU and turns it on its head for one of the most ambitious, craziest stories Marvel Studios has ever told."

With only four episodes of Loki left, we're definitely expecting some big reveals next Wednesday, but with no screeners provided to critics, everyone will be learning what they are at the same time!

Best Marvel Disney+ series thus far. Loki > WandaVision > FAWS

Not that the other 2 are bad by any means, but Loki just feels on another level.

Hopefully they will ACTUALLY and seriously talk about destiny/free will, cause if they want to leave me with that last ep...that'd be a shame...

Rewatched episode 2 last night and I'm inching closer to feeling this is some of the tightest scripting Marvel's done yet. Everything flows and builds like gangbusters, and they really aren't wasting a second of screentime with this one. The brief moment where Casey shows back up is probably my favorite of the season so far

@OmegaDaGrodd - I've been sweating the loss of Markus and McFeely (along with the Russos), because (while a lot of Marvel stuff is written just fine) their movies have been the sharpest on the page to me. After Loki, though...



Should have guessed he'd have Community roots, too.

@Spock0Clock - That's a really great point. I think M&M are the guys who know how best to distill most of the MCU characters and it's not a coincidence that most people's favorite versions come from their writing, but what gets kinda lost beyond the character stuff is how well they handle the plots and structure. The guy writing Loki seems to have such a great grasp of the character and history he's had in the MCU that it wasn't until this second episode that it really hit me how well this plot is being structured around getting the most out of the character stuff. It's a tough marriage on the planning side if he keeps things going strong on Dr. Strange, we might be looking at the next event writer (although I do want to see what Jac Scaffer does with Black Widow because I loved what she did on Wandavision for the most part)

Okay, so this is off-topic and probably too late and won't happen. But I just rewatched Black Panther recently and it's the first time I've bought into the idea of Killmonger taking over. T'Challa specifically offers to heal him and Killmonger just stabs himself deeper, so it's plausible that T'Challa would have stepped in anyway, against his wishes.

"The living aren't done with you, yet."

I feel bad for pushing back against people who have been suggesting this all along because now I think I see what they were aiming for. Killmonger's entire arc was how his whole life had been twisted by cruelty and indifference, driven by an idyllic fairy tale. For him to be pulled back from the brink of death by the ultimate act of charity, forgiveness, kindness, and reconciliation by his cousin and dying king, and then given back his freedom and empowered to be the nation's protector could be what untwists him. It could definitely work (and be a great angle for a movie in its own right).

@Spock0Clock - You know, I can almost see it when you put it like that. But I think there's a difference between Zemo and Killmonger's motives and methods that I don't really have it in me to quantify right now, but I feel like would make T'Challa more likely to respect Killmonger's wishes than Zemo's.

But more specifically, I push back against Killmonger as the new Black Panther because I think, in the wake of Marvel refusing to recast the role out of respect for the real-life death of the actor, it feels incredibly tone-deaf bordering on disrespectful to suggest that they bring back the dead (or at the very least, very heavily framed to be dead) villain of the piece of take over the role.

I don't agree with Marvel's decision not to recast myself, but I can understand the angle they're coming from, and Killmonger as a solution just strikes me as spitting in the face of why they went the way they went in the first place.

I still think that the TVA is that small city we saw in the Quantum Realm in Ant-Man and The Wasp. And that Kang is in total control of it through the Quantum Realm. And the purpose of the TVA is to not allow branches in time due to the way the Quantum Realm is designed. It presents a problem for the multiverse if variants that are threats are not contained quickly due to them threatening the quantum Realm and Lang's control of it.

@SonOfAGif - Interesting and tbh I like it up to a point. That point is Kang in charge. I prefer Kang is trying to take to take over and there is or will be a conflict. YMMV. In any case inserting Kang into AM3 with this as a backdrop helps that make more sense.

@JDL - Kang in general wanting control of time works with the Quantum Realm allowing him to be anywhere at anytime within seconds. It also makes Ant-Man a problem for proving that Quantum Travel is a thing and this threatens Lang's grasp of control if others like Ant-Man and Loki discover the potentials of the Quantum Realm.

@JDL - What gives the theory more credibility is the fact that the TVA stated what the Avengers did was allowed to happen. Perhaps it was allowed so Kang could get Loki to escape so he can use him to capture the one Loki who poses a threat. It also gives Loki's protest or free will more ammo when it turns out that he becomes the one Kang is threatened by.

Pretty sure they r sticking close to what it is in the comics except doing multiple clones of Owen Wilson would get too expensive so the TVA is full of comedic actors...
