LUKE CAGE Season 2 Motion Poster Spotlights Gabrielle Dennis As Tilda Johsnon, A.K.A Nightshade

The second season of Marvel and Netflix's Luke Cage is set to premiere very soon, and this latest motion poster-style promo spotlights one of the show's new characters, Tilda Johnson (Gabrielle Dennis).

By all accounts, the second season of Marvel's Luke Cage is a big improvement over the first, which really lost its way around the halfway point. The positive reviews have fans even more hyped for the show's return to Netflix in just a few days time.

As the promotion continues, the latest motion poster gives us a new look at Tilda Johnson, who'll be played by Rosewood actress Gabrielle Dennis.

In the comics, Johnson adopts the superhero identity of Nightshade, but it remains to be seen if the small-screen interpretation of the character follows suit. We do know that she's been retconned to be Maria Dillard's estranged daughter, and based on this promo her knowledge of science and medicine may be utilised for more nefarious, voodoo-like purposes!

I'm much more excited for this than the other shows recently. However, it's Bushmaster and Heroes for Hire that I'm most excited about, so I'm not sure if that reflects well or poorly on a show called Luke Cage.

(Slightly) off topic. I've been rewatching Punisher this week. Still think it's one of the most solid Netflix entries. They got me on board with the military conspiracy story after I was hesitant, Rollins was a great villain, as was Russo, for once all the side characters were interesting and added to the story and after taking a step back after Daredevil, Frank falls head-first into the Punisher persona as the episodes go on. Hoping he is fully-realized and accepting of his role as Punisher in Season 2 but Season 1 is about a 8.5/10 for me. Great show that I don't think got enough praise when it was released.

Also, cautiously optimistic for this season! I'm going in with only reading a few interviews and like one trailer.

Season 1 was good, but lost its footing towards the end...which was unfortunate.

Bushmaster's powers may have some connection with voodoo rituals, perhaps is Nightshade who gives them to Bushmaster. She could be the mastermind behind the war between Mariah Dillard and Bushmaster.

She didn’t become a hero until around 2016. She’s been a villain since her creation. It seems likely they are just adapting that aspect of the character.

I've cooled on these shows since Iron Fist and Defenders. I skipped JJ season 2 and I'll wait to hear if this show is actually worth investing 13 hours.
