Well, this isn't a bad way to start the week! The first trailer for season two of Luke Cage is here and it appears as if things for the Hero for Hire are about to take a turn for the worse. As you can see by watching below, he's going to meet his match in the villainous Bushmaster, someone who is every bit as strong - and bulletproof - as the man who has spent the past few years looking after Harlem.


There are plenty of other familiar faces here, though, as Mariah Dillard and Shades return to no doubt make Luke's life difficult and Rosario Dawson's Claire Temple can also be seen offering Luke advice. Misty Knight, meanwhile, is clearly going to have a lot of fun with that powerful new cybernetic arm. 

The 13-episode second season of Luke Cage hits Netflix on June 22nd, just three months after Jessica Jones returned to the online streaming service with a disappointing run of episodes. @HeavyMetal4Life - I agree, there definitely seems to be more of an exciting energy this season. The action scenes look a little more fast paced and better choreographed. Maybe they'll even be able to fix Danny.

@BIGBMH - to be fair, I thought Defenders largely redeemed Danny. Loved his chemistry with Colder.
But it's clear that the change in showrunner has really added some much needed energy into LC.

Let's hope it's more like first half season 1 Luke Cage and less like second half season 1 Luke Cage.

@BackwardGalaxy - I hope its quite different from the first season as a whole. Bushmaster already looks far superior to weak Cottonmouth

different eyebrows, head shape, lips, jaw line, chin, eye depth, nose bridge - only thing similar is the nose and ears.

@RasAlGhul - the strange thing is, I actually enjoyed the second season more than the first of JJ. (Except Purple Man over JJ's Mom for sure!)

I just found all the character's arcs more interesting this year than in season one. Sad David Tennant didn't make more appearances. He would have made Season 2 so much better haunting her some more!

I hate feeling like Cottonmouth had to be killed off because that actor is too expensive. Cottonmouth should've been a recurring villain with an ongoing dynamic with Luke. Seriously one of my favorite villains in all of the MCU.
