Moon Knight ended with the Marvel Cinematic Universe's first Kaiju battle when a massive Khonshu went to war with Ammit above the pyramids in Cairo, Egypt. It was an epic sequence that left fans of the Disney+ series suitably satisfied, and alternate designs for both Gods have now been revealed.
Rodney Fuentebella, Moon Knight's Visual Development Supervisor, has revealed a number of pieces featuring Khonshu's likeness at key moments throughout the show. It's still amazing how closely Marvel Studios stuck to the comic books with the Moon God's design, and it doesn't appear as if they ever considered veering away from the character's look to try and ground Khonshu in reality.
Meanwhile, over on ArtStation, concept artist Jerad S. Marantz has shared a number of early designs for the villainous Ammit. She looks formidable in the series itself, but we'd have loved to see this fiery take on the God worshipped by Arthur Harrow and his deranged followers in Moon Knight.
While Ammit has been defeated, the mid-credits scene made it clear we haven't seen the last of Khonshu. Like his comic book counterpart, it appears his sinister true nature has now been revealed.
