In the closing few minutes of last week's episode of Moon Knight, Marc Spector was gunned down by Arthur Harrow, and it's hard to imagine even Khonshu's avatar coming back from that (especially as he no longer has access to the Moon God's powers). However, both he and Steven then woke up to find themselves trapped in a mental hospital full of familiar faces.
The initial suggestion appeared to be that everything we'd seen up until this point had been in the hero's head, but things took an even more bizarre turn when the two personalities came face to face with the Ancient Egyptian Goddess Taweret. While there are similarities here to what we've seen in the comic books, it's clear that Marvel Studios is putting its own unique spin on the concept.
We'll hopefully find out exactly what the heck is going on this Wednesday, but things are certainly looking bleak for poor Marc and Steven. They're trapped...somewhere, and in the real world (if it is indeed real), Harrow is about to free Ammit. As well as dealing with Taweret, the duo may soon also find themselves meeting another personality in the violent, unhinged Jake Lockley.
Needless to say, Tuesday night/Wednesday morning really can't get here soon enough. These stills offer a closer look inside the walls of the asylum and show very different takes on some familiar faces.
