Today's episode of Moon Knight finally introduced us to Mr. Knight, but not necessarily in the way many comic book fans will have expected. On the page, "Mr. Knight" is an identity the vigilante takes on to investigate street-level crimes in New York City, and it's a guise we've seen Marc Spector don in many of his appearances since first suiting up in Secret Avengers and Warren Ellis' Moon Knight series.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe puts a very different spin on Mr. Knight by making him Steven Grant's costumed alter-ego. Pursued by another of Arthur Harrow's jackals, Steve is thrown from a window and told repeatedly by Marc, Layla, and Khonshu, to suit up. He does, but his idea of a suit is the one Mr. Knight wears, and Steven briefly fights the creature before handing control over to Marc as the Moon Knight.
It's unclear whether Mr. Knight will return in future episodes of the Disney+ series, and some fans are bound to be disappointed that the character is used primarily as a punchline.
Something tells us we'll see more of this take on Moon Knight in the MCU even if it isn't in this show. After all, the concept is too cool to be one-and-done; Mr. Knight has been heavily featured in the marketing campaign, and it seems likely he could be another aspect to Marc/Steven's personality.
