MOON KNIGHT's Second Episode Finally Introduces SPOILER But Makes A Big Change To The Character!

[SPOILER] finally made his presence felt in today's episode of Moon Knight, but Marvel Studios has made a big change to the character that might prove divisive among many comic book fans. Check it out...

Today's episode of Moon Knight finally introduced us to Mr. Knight, but not necessarily in the way many comic book fans will have expected. On the page, "Mr. Knight" is an identity the vigilante takes on to investigate street-level crimes in New York City, and it's a guise we've seen Marc Spector don in many of his appearances since first suiting up in Secret Avengers and Warren Ellis' Moon Knight series.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe puts a very different spin on Mr. Knight by making him Steven Grant's costumed alter-ego. Pursued by another of Arthur Harrow's jackals, Steve is thrown from a window and told repeatedly by Marc, Layla, and Khonshu, to suit up. He does, but his idea of a suit is the one Mr. Knight wears, and Steven briefly fights the creature before handing control over to Marc as the Moon Knight.

It's unclear whether Mr. Knight will return in future episodes of the Disney+ series, and some fans are bound to be disappointed that the character is used primarily as a punchline.

Something tells us we'll see more of this take on Moon Knight in the MCU even if it isn't in this show. After all, the concept is too cool to be one-and-done; Mr. Knight has been heavily featured in the marketing campaign, and it seems likely he could be another aspect to Marc/Steven's personality.

What did you think of today's episode of Moon Knight?

Hi, haven’t been on here in a while. But after watching this episode, I just want to say… like I said when Mr Knight was announced to appear (when certain individuals lost their minds, in a negative way)

I called they would change up the characters introduction to work within a narrative of a TV Show. And I also called it would be well executed. So, yeah…

Have a nice day.

Just here to point out the Spoiler right in the article title… JWilding still trying to ruin any surprises for the rest of the cbm community. Only came here to point out the hypocrisy and I’m going to keep doing it until the day I die.
Don’t forget not everyone gets to watch movies before they come out or the morning of release.

Pretty much what I've been saying that they'd ruin the character development portion of this, but didn't figure they'd make it basically a goofy punchline. Wtf?

pharoahe22 - 4/6/2022, 10:06 AM
@Origame - I’d wait and see. I think that Mr. Knight will turn into the character that we recognize from the comics as Steven himself gains more confidence. I’m ok with this. Really enjoyed the episode

@pharoahe22 - thats the point of the costume though. That he didn't wear it until he developed into it.

@Origame - Yes, we know you've been whining about this. But it absolutely does not ruin the character just because it's different from the comics. There's 4 episodes left...still plenty of time to develop this character and do something compelling here.

So here's your daily reminder to stop complaining so much.
Origame
Origame - 4/6/2022, 4:32 PM
@Tonic24k - oh hey. Right on cue. And just like before you don't know the f@#$ you're talking about.

The point is he develops INTO Mr knight. Not that he just comes in with the suit and the name. You might as well have batman begins start with Bruce Wayne is in the batsuit literally right after his parents died (no time skips, just 8 year old in a batsuit).

Also, considering Mr knight is known for his detective skills which this new Mr knight doesn't show any signs of, no I don't think 4 episodes is nearly enough time to get there.

Finally, I'll tell you what I keep telling you. If my complaints are such a problem for you, block me.
Tonic24k
Tonic24k - 4/6/2022, 4:59 PM
@Origame - And what I keep telling you, these live action adaptations ARE NOT the comics. Your entire complaint is hinged on that which renders it entirely null and void. Then you compare him to Batman's story which is a very bad attempt at reaching for equivalence.

Also, he has absolutely shown signs of being a detective. Just because he's nerdy and unconfident [currently] doesn't mean this persona is incapable of doing detective work. He's obsessed with Egyptian mythology...with the magnification of Konshu's powers, the Mr. Knight character can certainly develop into a suave detective.

And lastly, it's laughably miserable you turn down all encouragement to be a more positive person.
Origame
Origame - 4/6/2022, 5:13 PM
@Tonic24k - 1) its still trying to be moon knight. Just saying it isn't the comics doesn't mean you throw out the comics. If they did something better and you ignore that when adapting it, that's just poor writing.

2) what detective skills? Noticing the incredibly obvious weird s@#$ in his life?

3) you consider the comments you send to me as encouragement? Lol. You make moon knight look sane.
Tonic24k
Tonic24k - 4/6/2022, 5:31 PM
@Origame - 1. And it's STILL Moon Knight. You're acting like they took away Konshu and all Egyptian influence. Lol. Jeezus. And yeah..."poor writing" coming from the dude that wants a carbon copy from the comics. Poor writing would be just retelling the same exact story. So your idea of poor writing is original storytelling. Yeah, you have a great point there...

2. Yes, those minor details, among other things, are certainly something they can use to develop Mr. Knight. Unfortunately you like to complain more than you like to see what happens next.

3. I would hope as long as me and others have pointed out how much you whine you'd be prompted to do a little self reflection and realize you could dial back how miserable you are all the time.
Origame
Origame - 4/6/2022, 5:42 PM
@Tonic24k - 1) ...and I'm talking about Mr. Knight. And if you tell me he's the same person you clearly don't understand this franchise.

2) wtf? Those weren't minor details dude. His whole f@#$ing floor was scuffed up in his own living area. If he didn't notice that then I'd call him a dumba$$.

3) if you cared to look you'd see that I can actually be positive here. But no, you don't care about that. Because this has never been about "encouraging" me to be positive. It's only ever been about me saying bad things about the mcu. You're just so butthurt over anything negative aimed at the mcu.
Tonic24k
Tonic24k - 4/10/2022, 5:25 PM
@Origame - I don’t care when people don’t like the MCU. I just find it silly when people complain ignorantly.

Just watch the show and see how it plays out. Understand good writing requires originality. Storytelling from Marvel Studios has been—and always will be—reimagining the source material. Even the comic books do this within their own continuity. Hence Earth-616 and the “Ultimate” variations of characters and their origins.

Just admit when you’re wrong and stop complaining about everything little thing that doesn’t meet your self centered expectations.
Origame
Origame - 4/10/2022, 9:23 PM
@Tonic24k - 1) funny, because I made the same complaints both before and during the run of titans season 3 in regard to them handling red hood. Where the f@#$ were you then? In fact, why don't I ever see you when I'm giving complaints about literally any other franchise? Just admit you're upset I criticized your precious mcu. At least be honest about it.

2) then make a new Egyptian themed superhero. And no, marvel may take liberties, what they tend to stay faithful on is the characters. And when it comes to mr. Knight? Nope. Not at all.

Besides, it's poor writing if that source material is objectively better than what you're writing. Or do you think that bumbling idiot is actually better than this.

And you can't really compare a comic print specifically designed to do things different while keeping the main continuity to the very first live action portrayal of these characters.

3) I mean, even by your logic I'm not really wrong. At the very least I don't know if I'm wrong or not, since we haven't seen the full show.
Tonic24k
Tonic24k - 4/16/2022, 9:22 PM
@Origame - Where am I? Not in those articles. Because I don't like any of those CW shows. Therefore, I'm in the articles pertaining to the things I enjoy. You should try that sometime.

As for this MCU version...we're in E3 of his initial entry to live action. There's a lot of time to develop this character. And just like I said he had traits of being a detective earlier in the season and that part came out, once he gains some confidence, I'm sure he'll develop into a character more aligned with his comic book counterpart.

So it has nothing to do with the MCU. You just go out of your way to complain instead of enjoying shit for what it is. No one likes that.
