MS. MARVEL Appears To Have Been Pushed Back For An Early 2022 Premiere On Disney+

We were expecting to see Ms. Marvel on Disney+ later this year, but with Hawkeye receiving a November premiere date, it's now looking like the series has been pushed into early 2022. Check it out...

It was originally reported that we'd see Ms. Marvel and Hawkeye on Disney+ before 2021 was over, but it seems plans have changed following the news that the latter is taking aim at a November 24 premiere. Short of Ms. Marvel being crammed in between What If...? and Hawkeye, there's no room for it on the streaming service this year, so that has to mean a 2022 debut, right?

TV Line was recently asked that question in one of the site's "Inside Line" column, and Matt Webb Mitovich - a reliable source for TV news - shared the following insight.

"I asked around and it is very safe to assume at this point that Ms. Marvel is now on track for an early 2022 premiere," he reveals, pretty much confirming what we all expected.

While this news is going to disappoint fans, having these Marvel Studios TV shows hitting Disney+ one after the other in quick succession could result in some of them getting lost in the shuffle, especially when there are other big movies and series debuting on the streaming service on a regular basis (like The Book of Boba Fett, for example). Disney will also want to make sure that attention isn't pulled too much from Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and Eternals ahead of their big screen debuts.

Going back to Ms. Marvel, an early 2022 premiere makes sense, especially with a November 2022 release planned for The Marvels.

Now, Kamala Khan will be fresh in the minds of fans heading into that sequel, and it means that Disney isn't cramming too much MCU content into the second half of 2021 (not that we'd complain).

@CaptainAustralia - I guess Marvel lied to us, we were supposed to get 3 more MCU shows after What if this year. I think we were supposed to get Hawkeye, Ms Marvel, and She Hulk.

Then it was rumored that we were going to get 9 more MCU shows next year. Guess the BW lawsuit is making them think twice about casting a MCU actor for Disney+ lol.

@mastakilla39 - I don't know what you're talking about, you seem to be confused on a lot of things.

First off, She-Hulk was always 2022, not 2021.

Second off, the rumor is not that we would get 9 more MCU D+ shows next year, but rather just that Marvel currently has 9 (officially) unannounced MCU shows in the works total.

Not really surprised either Ms. Marvel or Hawkeye was gonna be delayed, since I didn't expect a Marvel episode every week from next week onward and a Star Wars show running at the same time too

It's all about Hawkeye, that's why.

Can't wait

I'm not surprised at all considering Black Widow sets up Hawkeye and we don't want to keep the fans hanging for too long. Honestly I prefer to keep familiarity a bit longer before heading into uncharted territory, which Shang Chi and Eternals will fill the void with.

As soon as Hawkeye got that November date and an image was released it seemed pretty likely tbh.

Figured they werent gonna squeeze that in before Hawkeye. Dont matter. It will be first show to drop next year after BOBF.

Honestly not really event excited for this show. I understand its setting up another young avengers character but just dont care.

They are quite possibly butchering the first Muslim hero in the MCU by giving her Green Lanterns powers but with purple.

@Waddles - so drastically? Quite possibly.

I personally am not a fan that they changed her powers to generic green lantern rip off and more particle effects. But then again they have never gotten elastic powers right on the big screen let alone the small screen.

Yup, I had a feeling it was delayed. I don't mind, make it closer to 'The Marvels' instead.

Honestly I hope it isn't too much of a drastic change. Her polymorphic powers have become such an iconic part of her character.
