RUMOR MILL: BAD BOYS FOR LIFE Directors Reportedly Eyed To Helm MS. MARVEL Series Coming To Disney+

There have been rumblings for a while now that Bad Boys For Life directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah could enter the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and it now sounds like they'll work on Ms. Marvel...

In "Rumor Mill," we share the hard to buy rumours that don't come from reliable sources like the trades, but are still more believable (just) than what you might find on Reddit.

Bad Boys For Life directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah have confirmed on multiple occasions that they've talked to Marvel Studios about joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and The Direct is now reporting that the filmmakers have signed up to helm at least one episode of Ms. Marvel

It's currently unclear whether it will be just the one instalment or the entire series, but we'll likely learn more soon as production is expected to begin later this Fall and run through next Spring.

Interestingly, the site notes that the plan is for each episode of Ms. Marvel to be in the one-hour format. Many fans were surprised that episodes of The Mandalorian were often around 30 - 40 minutes, so it's obviously going to be interesting to see whether these Marvel Studios TV shows are closer to 60 minutes like a lot of the TV shows we see on Amazon Prime and Netflix.

This should obviously be taken with a pinch of salt for now, but El Arbi and Fallah are interesting choices to help tell Kamala Khan's story, Recently, there have been rumblings that we're going to find out who is playing the Inhuman hero in the coming weeks, but time will tell on that front.

What do you guys make of this news?

Bad Boys For Life was...inoffensive? I'm alright with this decision, if it pans out.

Bad Boys For Life had a pretty fun, youthful energy despite the lead characters talking about how old they are so frequently. Also, it's nice to have a Muslim perspective behind the lens for this, especially with how skewed most media depictions of Muslim families tend to be.

Good way to test talent. Wonder if they have talked to any Mandalorian directors about projects

@TheUnworthyThor - don't know how her goofy powers will translate to live action.

Shouldn't they be focusing on new Bad Boys and Bevery Hills Cop movies?

If they jump aboard the Marvel ship, I rather see them do Blade or Moon Knight.

@bkmeijer - Yeah, should probably do a few more projects.

Joss Whedon was going to do Doctor Horrible 2 before his work on Age Of Ultron got in the way

BBFL was hardly an A+ movie, I was expecting it to suck hard. Buuuut...

I had one hell of a fun time watching it. Martin Lawrence still on form as always, bringing the funny but not overdoing it. Decent action scenes. The film had an energy to it, easily transferable to a Ms. Marvel series.
Also, it featured Paola Núñez. I mean come on :D

@JustALurker - Directors like to work with cast they worked with previously, so with a bit of luck, she'll have a Marvel role

I really liked Bad Boys 3, guess it will have good action, although am not excited for the character itself, most Hollywood protrails of Muslim characters are very cringworthy or miss the point intirely.

She-Hulk
Moon Knight
Blade
WandaVision

I enjoyed Bad Boys For Life looking forward to see what the directors of that movie do with Ms. Marvel, one of my favorite characters another Marvel Disney+ show I'm anticipating besides The Falcon And The Winter Soldier. Not really Looking forward to Moon Knight and Werewolf By Night (who will supposedly make an appearance in the show, Blade or Ghost Rider since Disney also with no risk Kevin "Big Wuss" Feige are gonna really water these characters down rendering them so they can appeal to kids and families. But I have no problem with Ms. Marvel being done like this cause in the comics she was never a dark adult oriented character so I'd never want any R rated movie or show for her.
