With just hours to go before the latest trailer for Secret Invasion is released by Marvel Studios, another promo has found its way online with more new footage from the Disney+ series.

We quickly learn that there's a history between Nick Fury and Olivia Colman's MI6 agent (thought to be a relative of comic book superhero Union Jack), though the latter doesn't think the former S.H.I.E.L.D. Director has what it takes to win this fight.

That fight is against an army of shape-shifting Skrulls looking to take over Earth and, based on what we see elsewhere in this sneak peek, Fury will have his work cut out for him. One of the aliens shows off Groot-like abilities, suggesting Secret Invasion will finally introduce an early take on the Super-Skrulls.

They should make for far more deadly opponents than the blaster-wielding baddies Carol Danvers and Fury faced in Captain Marvel, that's for sure.

As we noted yesterday, the new trailer is heading our way during the MLB game between the Philadelphia Phillies and the Texas Rangers as part of ESPN's Sunday Night Baseball. We don't have an exact time for when it will be released, but the game starts at 7pm ET.

"Secret Invasion is a newly announced series heading to Disney+ that stars Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury and Ben Mendelsohn as the Skrull Talos, characters who first met in Captain Marvel," reads an official synopsis for the show. "The crossover event series showcases a faction of shape-shifting Skrulls who have been infiltrating Earth for years."

Secret Invasion is expected to premiere on Disney+ on June 21. Check out the latest promo footage below!

I feel like this should have been a bigger event than what they’re doing here. Guess we’ll see what happens…

@Saintsinnister - Maybe it should have involved the other Disney Plus shows.

The movie characters would have been nice but unless it's released at the cinema it would have been to expensive to make.

@Saintsinnister - They can tell more story in a series than a film tho. But like you said, we'll see what happens.

@Saintsinnister -

We're desensitized to excitement, due to lackluster efforts. Had this been a collaborative effort from Vince McGill & Paul Dini, I would've likely taken the day off in anticipation. Long story short:
Bring back the legends.

As someone who watches exactly 0 sports... can someone who sports tell me if sports fans are a target audience for comic book trailers?

I hope this wont disappoint.

Imagine Marvel delaying this for their "quality over quantity" statement only for it to suck.

This should have been an 8 part series to serve as an introduction and then 3 movies. Movie 1: Nick Fury: Agent of Shield, Movie 2: Spiderman 4, Movie 3: either a solo War Machine or a team up movie between War Machine, Nick Fury, Sam Wilson, Bucky and a maybe a cameo from Spiderman.

Will all the Skrulls have an Australian accent??? 🙄

@SuperiorHeckler - Yeah, because everyone knows that shape shifting aliens speak with an American accent. Duh 🙄

@SuperiorHeckler - I forget, did one of the writers address this? Was it because they arrived on the shores of Australia and the humans they mimicked were Australian?

I usually make bold predictions about the direction mcu is going. And often times I've been right. But I was totally wrong here. I thought they were going to slowly reveal skrull infiltrators in the lead up to this show. But other than spiderman, we haven't seen any skrulls.

Unless the big kicker is some of these characters all along have been skrulls
