The popularity of comedy series Schitt's Creek will undoubtedly see Emily Hampshire's profile raised considerably, and should those highly sought-after superhero roles come her way, the actress has set her sights on two character in particular.
Last month, Hampshire responded to a Tweet calling for her to be cast as Spider-Woman by agreeing that she'd be a good fit for the role, and she elaborated during an interview with ComicBook.com.
"I would love to do that. I didn't know where that [Tweet] came from, but wherever it came from, I agree and I like it. I would be just good at it. I would be so into that."
However, if Jessica Drew was off the table, the former Boy Meet Girl star would be just as happy to suit-up as the Sensational She-Hulk. "The only other one I can think of is -- I'd be very into playing She-Hulk. I've been hearing something about that. I didn't realize that -- I looked up the comic book and I didn't realize she was such a... You think of She-Hulk and muscles and stuff, but the person who's behind it is just such a cool character."
Hampshire has clearly done her research and knows that Marvel has a She-Hulk series in development for Disney+, and has likely heard the rumor that Sony is queuing up a Spider-Woman movie as part of their shared Spidey universe. Even if nothing comes of this, throwing her hat in the ring is a smart move because the resulting fan-support may still put her on Marvel's radar.
What do you guys think? Could you see Hampshire as either Spider-Woman or She-Hulk? Let us know in the usual place.
