Seventeen years after breathing life into the X-Men on film, director Bryan Singer has brought to life a whole new generation of X-Men stories with his excellent premiere episode for The Gifted, which really hit the ground running and based on tonight's ending, it doesn't look like it'll be slowing down anytime soon.

Next week, Caitlin (Amy Acker) & Eclipse (Sean Teale) team-up to find a special serum to help Blink (Jamie Chung) recover after overexerting her abilities. Meanwhile, Polaris (Emma Dumont) adjusts to prison life and gets an unexpected visitor, who may just hold the key to her escape.

In lieu of an episode promo, FOX has released an extended sneak preview for the rest of the season, which teases several major events. Check out the preview below:

CAITLIN AND ECLIPSE TEAM UP TO TRY AND HELP BLINK ON AN ALL-NEW "THE GIFTED" MONDAY, OCTOBER 9, ON FOX

After exerting her powers beyond their limits, Blink (Jamie Chung, "Big Hero 6," "The Hangover Part II") goes into a state of shock, forcing Caitlin (Amy Acker, "Person of Interest") and Eclipse (Sean Teale, "Survivor") to go on a mission to find a special serum that will help her to recover. Meanwhile, Reed (Stephen Moyer, "True Blood," SHOTS FIRED) faces some difficult choices when it comes to helping his family, and Polaris (Emma Dumont, "Bunheads," "Aquarius") runs into some trouble in the all-new "rX" episode of THE GIFTED airing Monday, Oct. 9 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.

I thought it was a pretty solid debut... I can't say I'm hooked on it, as the whole Fox X-Men thing only grabs me so much, but the cast is good so far, and they had a Stan Lee cameo which I appreciated. The little sentinel bots are fun too.

Unless there's a better football game on next week, I'll likely keep watching it.

The Gifted wishes it was good as Inhumans.

So, what did everyone think?

I thought it was an overall solid debut. Singer did a great job with the start, and that's all I initially asked. I'm excited to see where they take it from here.

Also, love me some Jamie Chung. More of her is ALWAYS a good thing.

@L0RDbuckethead - Haven't watched it yet, but I did want to weigh in vis a vis Jamie Chung being a good thing.

Yes. That is all.

Legion makes this look like a CW show in term of quality. Still good.. Look forward to the rest of the season.

@NotoriousWolf23 - Legion is vastly overrated. In fact, the entire FX network is vastly overrated and, quite frankly, pretentious as all hell. Atlanta is no doubt a show for SJWs (hence its Emmy success), and American Horror Story is laughably bad and is a shame that it wastes the talents of so many good actors & actresses. I could list 10 plotholes in every episode of the first two seasons and I haven't even been able to get through season 3 yet.

Not feeling it.

It's hard to get into it when you consider the fact that characters like Polaris should be in the films and this should've been a series centered around The Morlocks.

Drizzle in some District X while you're at it.
