THE PUNISHER: We're Going To See Frank Castle And Micro Use The Battle Van From The Comics

There are some things from the comic books that fans never expect to see in live-action but we can now add one to the list that will definitely appear in Marvel and Netflix's The Punisher. That's the Battle Van as it's been confirmed that Frank Castle and Micro are going to be using that as a primary means of transportation and that we can expect to see it an awful lot in the highly anticipated TV series.

"They travel around in the Battle Van in the comics, so it was important for us to do our version of that," Marvel TV boss Jeph Loeb confirms on Netflix's Media Center. "It’s not the Batmobile, but it’s definitely an iconic character that people know." That's very true and while we don't know how much it will differ to what's in the source material, it's going to be fun seeing it in action in the show.

The Battle Van first appeared in Giant-Size Spider-Man #4 and has since made a number of appearances. Covered in armour and a variety of advanced weapons, The Punisher uses it to take the fight to his enemies and it's frequently served as his primary base of operations while on the run from the law. Are you guys excited to see it appear here? Let us know your thoughts in the usual place.

@DoubleD - If true it probably won't end, just move to the new platform Disney is making where it will probably be Disney-fied. Sad!

Seriously I will be pissed if Micro and Frank roll around in the "battle-van".

Punisher doesn't take anyone on his missions.

Micro is the guy in the chair.

It only took three crappy movies to get Punisher right on TV.

I think it's time they announced a new Netflix series. I'm surprised they haven't already. New seasons of old things are good, but I think they need to keep the hype going by being innovative and not resting on established heroes. We need a new Jessica Jones. A surprise.

Of course, I'd be incredibly happy with Moon Knight or She-Hulk (they both make sense in the preexisting Netflix universe), same with White Tiger and so many others, but I'd also be happy with something different than a martial arts show. Maybe more spycraft and politics, Superia's rise before she turned towards AIM, an archeologist hunting magical artifacts like Savant (I know she's not Marvel, but the concept is nice), or something mystical like Satana maybe. Domino would have been great also. A younger show about Finesse, Taskmaster's daughter, could also be great.

A ton of other characters come to mind, but most are from the X-universe so I imagine they're a no-go.
