The Punisher ended after only two seasons on Netflix, but it's left a lasting impact with comic book fans. Now, artist Joe Quesada has shared an amazing piece of artwork used for a cast and crew t-shirt...

After a memorable, Emmy-worthy debut in Daredevil, Jon Bernthal's Frank Castle was given his own series in late 2017. The first spinoff series in the world of The Defenders got off to a strong start, but things quickly fell apart during its second year thanks to some disappointing villains.

Now, Marvel's Executive Vice President and Creative Director Joe Quesada has shared some very cool artwork he created exclusive for those who worked on The Punisher season two.

As you can see, the badass vigilante is depicted opening fire on some unseen enemies (with his iconic skull emblem in the background). This has never been seen before now, and that's a shame because it would have made a great promotional poster for the show when it was on the air.

Of course, by the end, Netflix lost interest in promoting these Marvel TV shows and they went out with a whimper rather than a bang as a result.

Now, the fate of The Punisher is very much up in the air, and while Bernthal has expressed interest in reprising the role, we don't know how likely that is. After all, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige could choose to reboot all the characters featured in this corner of the Marvel Cinematic Universe somewhere down the line; for now, they're off limits for at least a year or two.

I'm rewatching Daredevil, and Season 2 only worked when it was focused on the Punisher plot-line imo. The entire Hand storyline felt like a swing and a miss, like a completely different (and lesser) show.

@tmp3 - As a huge DD fan (my favorite comic hero ever) I can tell you The Hand stuff bores me in the comics too; at least when its overdone. I hate Shadowland. Ninjas are cool but its got to fit. Looking back, the show could have worked with way less of The Hand; in the sense that there involvement could've been more simple considering the grounded world: Nobu stays dead after his fight with Matt. Season 2 we get a succinct 1 episode cat and mouse game of more ninjas coming for Matt's head to avenge Nobu. Stick comes back to help, tries to tell Matt more about The Hand, Matt calls it bullshit, they win, done. The explanation for The Hand is nothing more than off their rocker Yakuza who have been obsessed with ninjitsu for ages.

After season 1, maybe the guys who picked up season 2 felt obliged to do something with The HAND, but at the same time didn't realize just how much the grounded take made this show so special. It got too out there for the world created.

Season 2 is damn near perfect those first 7 episodes when its mainly Punisher. The back half of the season probably should have still been Punisher based, sprinkles of Elektra playing on Matt's darkness.

Season 1 had the right idea with Nobu. He was mysterious, he turned out to be a ninja. It was simple and it worked. The Hand in the world DD created in season 1 should have just been a Yakuza facsimile/ yakuza lite that had a few guys or a sect that was really into ninjitsu. Season 1 had me thinking they would go that route and then they got into undead ninja stuff, magic chosen ones and prophecies.

@BlackBeltJones - Season 1 felt like The Wire with tights. Loved that sense of grit, something season 2 lacked for the most part. Season 3 is probably my favorite of the three though.

His teaser covers he made for the shows promos were always a highlight. I hope if he has any other left that he can share it with us.

Punisher was good. I wonder where the story would have taken us if there was a 3rd Season. As long as a series finale included Frank reuniting with Amy, I'm good with whatever the journey would take us.

I feel that They should have omited the Electra part of season 2 of DD and save It to Defenders, spliting Matt's role between Jessica, Danny and Luke,

Elektra as a share holder of Rand
Hiring, Jessica to investigate them and Luke as bodygard.etc
