WandaVision featured a lot of memorable moments, but that Halloween episode remains a highlight. In it, we saw Wanda Maximoff and The Vision don comic accurate costumes, but they weren't the only ones; Pietro looked like he'd stepped straight out of the comic books as Quicksilver, while even Tommy and Billy were the spitting image of Young Avengers Speed and Wiccan.
Now, Marvel Studios Director of Visual Development, Andy Park, has shared a keyframe from the episode showcasing each of those costumes. The Scarlet Witch looks a little different here, but the artist notes that the idea was to "harken back to Vision, Scarlet Witch & Quicksilver’s classic comic book looks, Billy & Tommy in costumes & even Sparky!"
"I had so much fun imagining up Vision’s 'Mexican wrestler' look," he continues, "Wanda’s Sokovian fortune teller look & Quicksilver’s blue suit with classic white hairstyle!"
"Fun Fact: it was Elizabeth Olsen herself that requested to don her very classic comic book accurate Halloween costume after seeing Vision’s version," Park adds. "She was always gonna have the headdress but I was initially asked to design her costume like I have it here rather than the leotard look. Gotta love Lizzy for having the absolutely right instincts!"
It's a beautiful piece of work, and there's a lot to digest here. While Quicksilver may have been revealed to be Ralph Bohner, the actor did a great job as the character originally played in the Marvel Cinematic Universe by Aaron Taylor-Johnson (in 2015's Avengers: Age of Ultron). Whether he'll return remains to be seen, but we're not banking on it.
