This week's episode of WandaVision kicks off in the real world with "Geraldine" waking up in a hospital as her body slowly reforms during "The Blip." As you might expect, panic has ensued in the building as the people who vanished five years ago all reappear, but this future sitcom star only cares about one thing: finding her mother. We soon learn that "Geraldine" is Monica Rambeau, and that she was sitting by her mother's bedside when she disappeared. A doctor tells Monica that while Maria's surgery was a success five years ago, the cancer returned, and she actually died three years ago.

In the present day, Monica arrives at S.W.O.R.D., and meets with Director Tyler Hayward (Josh Stamberg). We learn that Maria founded the organisation, but it's been through a lot of changes in the past five years, and is now more about protecting Earth than exploring space (Monica drops a hint about Captain Marvel when she says about them having "allies" out there). Hayward tells Monica she's been grounded, and sends her to Westview, New Jersey to investigate a missing persons case. Meeting with FBI Agent Jimmy Woo - he's mastered magic! - she speaks to a couple of local cops who insist Westview isn't a real place, and that they're from Eastview...it's as if their memories have been wiped. The town has essentially gone missing despite the fact it's sitting right there, and after sending a drone in that vanishes, Monica gets a little too close and is sucked inside.

S.W.O.R.D. soon arrives on the scene, and Dr. Darcy Lewis has been brought in to help them figure out what's going on. She picks up on a strange frequency, and tunes into the sitcom we've been watching these past few weeks. She's also figured out that there's radiation which can be traced back to the big bang (remember, Wanda's powers are tied to the Infinity Stones), and the team then starts identifying each of the "characters" on the show. We don't learn much beyond their real names, but they soon spot Monica, and it's then Darcy and Jimmy attempt to contact Wanda through the radio. On their end, however, they don't see everything we do, with the broadcast being censored from inside. We also learn at this point that the mysterious beekeeper was indeed just a S.W.O.R.D. agent who transformed after passing through the hexagonal barrier surrounding the town.

With alerts going off, we head back into the sitcom world and learn that Wanda is seemingly very much in control of her actions. She sends "Geraldine" packing, and seems a little shocked by her actions. However, she quickly repairs the hole in the wall, and looks lovingly at the children until Vision walks in. Here's where things get weird, though, because when she looks at her husband, he's a greyed out, milky-eyed corpse with a hole in his head from where Thanos tore out the Infinity Stone. In fact, he appears to be a walking, talking dead, android, but when she looks back up at him, he's normal again. When he says that they don't have to stay there and that they could go wherever they want, Wanda says, "No, we can't...this is our home." She assures him that she has everything under control, but could it be that this is the only place he can "live"?

Outside, Monica wakes up, and tells Jimmy, "It's Wanda. It's all Wanda." As Wanda and Vision sit on the couch together, he looks a little confused (he knows something is up), but that's where the episode ends...

This episode was a little more satisfying in that it gave the backstory to a lot of what is happening in the show. I actually enjoyed this episode tho I get it was a bit short too when it ended

I still have the feeling that they should have dropped the whole show to be binged in this case. FatWS and Loki might be better for the weekly release format.

@SonOfOdor - it’s a love hate thing for me. I like the weekly showcase because it does bring that giddy nerdy emotion out of me every week. As opposed to when a marvel movie came out I would get that feeling only a few times a year. Now I can essentially have this marvel orgasmic level of excitement and intrigue every week for a whole year.. The hate comes in though when I go back to my life for the 6 days in between and do my best to continue to distract myself until the next release. I also think they wrote this show and directing it with this in mind so I think it would be perceived differently for a first viewing if it’s straight through.

@TaChalla92 - yeah I definitely get it man, there’s a special feeling you get from waiting for an episode of something to drop every week.

For me tho, with this show it just feels a little more unsatisfying than usual. It feels like the episodes are clips of an episode rather than a full episode lol but I think that is just due to the nature of the show and the way it is being presented. I didn’t feel this way with Mando at all really. This story is so weird and different for marvel that I think I would have preferred to just run through it. But I’m still enjoying it for what it is 👌🏽

@SonOfOdor - definitely should’ve dropped all episodes at once.Especially the way this one is.Seems like it was designed to be a binge show even more so than any other show I’ve seen.Seems like as good as it is that it would be better enjoyed if it was taken in all at once.

Answers a lot of questions, although I still think there's more to it than it just being Wandas doing. Actually yelled out at the vision moment

@Joshd2212 - Agreed - It's just too obvious to reveal in episode that this is all Wanda's doing - something else is going on here.

@hummingbird68 - definitely, way too big of a reveal with 5 episodes left, she does seem out of it after blasting Monica. Also makes perfect sense Maria being founder of Sword and the slight name change

Well damn, that was a revealing episode. It de-bunked my theory of Monica flying in on a helicopter - but that's the fun of a weekly show, allows for theories.

I really liked the way Monica was introduced initially, coming back from the snap (blip) in the hospital and the reveal that Monica's mom was original leader of SWORD. Good introductions for Jimmy Woo and Darcy as well - who'da thought Darcy would have such great insights.
Kevin Feige said that this series was going to be six hours long in total, so I hope we start getting longer episodes soon - half hours goes by way to fast - I NEED MORE!!

I'm still not 100% sold on the whole "It's just Wanda doing this" angle.
Allthough this episode really implies this to be the case.

I still go by my Gravity Falls theory. Wherein Wanda gets trapped in a prison she can control and don't want to leave for she reigns supreme in there, but it's been actually created by a demon. Like Mabel in her weirdness-bubble created by Bill Cipher.

Also reanimated Vision corpse was a thought I had from the start. I still hope though, seeing that he's a machine, that they can bring him back somehow.

This episode was solid, though it didn't really present us with solutions to the questions we all have. Instead it just confirmed all suspicions up to this point. But that's fine with me: Next episode we can all go in knowing the up-to-date status from the insisde as well as the outside. So that's exciting.

@SpaceAgent - That shot of Vision with his skull injury was pretty horrifying and graphic.

I think I agree that Wanda is somehow trapped here and while she has power to effect and create here, the Westview construct is not her idea.

@SpaceAgent - I felt like the fact that the episode ended with a character looking at the camera and saying "it's all Wanda" is 100% confirmation that this is definitely not Wanda's doing

I agree that Wanda is in a trance in WestView and can't let go of the high of getting what she wants, so she basically becomes an unwitting accomplice, even though her power seems to make the other characters feel threatened, almost as if they know she's strong enough to one day shut the whole thing down

The big question is does Photon denote a call sign or a super powered individual?
