COWBOY BEBOP: Netflix Announces Start Of Filming With A New Promo Revealing The Live-Action Ein

Back in April, fans learned that John Cho, Mustafa Shakir and Daniella Pineda had been cast as Spike Spiegel, Jet Black and Faye Valentine respectively, but we had yet to receive any official word on the other two members of the Bebop’s crew: Radical Ed and Ein.

While there’s still no news on Ed, a new behind-scenes-video for Netflix’s live-action Cowboy Bebop series, which also confirmed the start of filming on the show, has finally unveiled the corgi who will be bringing the intelligent pooch Ein to life.

In addition to Cho and the previously mentioned cast members, the forthcoming anime adaptation will also star Alex Hassell as Spike’s arch-enemy Vicious and Elena Satine as Julia.

Now, check out the cool new behind-the-scenes video below and be sure to share your thought in the comments section.

Cowboy Bebop is one of my favorite animes of all time. Top 3, easily. They better not screw this up. I'm already not the biggest fan of the cast so far, but I'm willing to give it a shot.

@CorndogBurglar - bebop is my favorite series period. and the cast is interesting , wouldn't have been my first choices for spike but i'm definitely interested in where this goes. They definitely need to make sure it's not ongoing tho and have a beginning and end mapped out . not a bunch of seasons

BEST NEWS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I haven't read anything on them casting Edward tho which will throw the vibe off unless they're making this a dark series .

can't wait for this !!!!!!!

Death Note was such a cinematic masterpiece, I loved every minute of the movie. I hope Netflix has another winner on their hands.

Pineda as Faye is really working for me, and I've always got time for Shakir. I've also warmed to Cho as Spike (as long as he does deliver). But overall, I'm expecting this to end up being a little generic (but that doesn't mean bad). I really don't see live-action capturing the spirit of Bebop. And if we get "Blade-Runner-with-a-Bebop-skin", then it will probably still be watchable.

I'll give this a shot but its a property that doesn't needs a live action adaptation.

Much rather have another animated movie.

@BlackBeltJones - that last movie was between ep 23-24 , i'm not sure where they could squeeze the next one in ...

when you get a chance check out demon slayer , the animation style is breathtaking IMO

@BlackBeltJones - one character is extremely annoying but aside from that it's a solid watch .... stories pretty basically but animation is top notch

hope you enjoy

I actually haven't seen the animated series but I watched Knockin on Heaven's Door last year and if that film is any indication of how good the rest of Cowboy Bebop is, then this has a real tough act to follow.

The music needs to be on point for starters and so do the characters. And the fight choreography needs to be John Wick and Upgrade level (without the dynamic camera movements).

It won't happen but I'd love if they just kept the intro from the anime.

I don't know why they're casting such old poeple, espacially Cho as Spike and Hassel as Vicious, but Ein's casting is spot on :D

Since it'll be on Netflix I'll definitely give it a try. Still have serious doubts about some of the casting decisions, though, and like with the adaptation(s) of Avatar:TLA I don't really see much any potential benefit from transfering the story and characters into a live action production.
