Last night, Netflix announced that Jupiter's Legacy will not be returning for a second season, with the cast, led by Josh Duhamel, Leslie Bibb and Ben Daniels, released from their commitments and free to pursue other projects.
Though writer/EP Mark Millar maintains that the door is open for the show to return down the line, he has now turned his attention to a live-action Supercrooks series which will be set in the same universe. While this would potentially allow for characters from Season 1 of Jupiter's Legacy to appear, it's yet to be confirmed if that's the plan.
Now, several cast members have taken to social media to share their reactions to the show's cancellation.
“I’m gutted,” said a clearly disappointed Andrew Horton (Brandon Sampson). “Jupiter’s Legacy was a once in a lifetime experience, and one I will never forget. I’m sad and sorry that we don’t get to continue this journey. I feel as though we had barely scratched the surface with this one, but as the inimitable Jim Carey once said. “That’s the way the cookie crumbles.'”
“I stand with my brothers in arms,” Leslie Bibb (Grace Sampson) posted to her Instagram. “This union is something i believe in and i will miss wholeheartedly. [I] love you friends.” Finally, Matt Lanter (George Hutchence) thanked the "incredible cast, crew and creatives behind #JupitersLegacy. What an experience you all made this... It’s not every day that a kid like me gets to be a superhero."
How do you guys feel about Jupiter's Legacy being cancelled? Would you like to see the story continue at some point?
