It's been a while since we had any updates on this one, but Netflix has now announced an official premiere date of May 7 for the streamer's adaptation of Mark Millar and Frank Quitely's Jupiter's Legacy.
We also have a first teaser for the show, and while it doesn't reveal any footage, we do hear Josh Duhamel's The Utopian deliver an ominous speech to (presumably) his daughter Chloe (Elena Kampouris)
“One day you’re going to be stronger than anyone else in the world. Every evil you can imagine is going to rise up against mankind. And not for justice, for vengeance. And you’re going to be the future.”
Jupiter's Legacy is "an epic superhero drama that spans decades and navigates the complex dynamics of family, power, and loyalty. After nearly a century of keeping mankind safe, the world’s first generation of superheroes must look to their children to continue the legacy. But tensions rise as the young superheroes, hungry to prove their worth, struggle to live up to their parents’ legendary public reputations — and exacting personal standards."
The series will also star Ben Daniels as Brain-Wave, Leslie Bibb as Lady Liberty, Andrew Horton as Brandon Sampson, Mike Wade as The Flare and Matt Lanter as Skyfox.
It'll be interesting to see how Jupiter's Legacy is received following Amazon's The Boys, which shares some very similar themes.
