The men who brought the hit sci-fi horror series Stranger Things to life aren't going anywhere, as Netflix has responded to rumors that creators Matt and Ross Duffer were leaving the show.

Moviefone had reported that the pair would step down from their roles as showrunners after the third season of Stranger Things wraps. The report also stated that the Duffer brothers are expected to stay on in some capacity, but would not oversee the writers room and direct the show's critical episodes as they did in the past.

An unnamed source claimed that the brothers have a deal with Netflix that requires them to launch two other projects with the massive streaming
company, and that Matt and Ross would move on to produce a new series to fulfill this obligation. There were also rumors that the Duffers will go the Hollywood route and direct a theatrically released film, as they tried to do before pitching Stranger Things.

Given the series' huge streaming numbers and status as a pop culture touchstone, Netflix was quick to respond to these rumors to keep fans from panicking.

The article is incomplete, you forgot to add that they're getting their own Star Wars trilogy.

@soberchimera - I want a spinoff focused on a rogue faction of Sith who are a group and proved that the concept of "two" is flawed.

Season 1 was great, season 2 sucked. They're 50/50 right now so I wouldn't complain either way.

@xcan - While I don’t think it sucked, it was a bit long and lacked the simplicity and freshness of the first season. It seemed more like in season 1 they had a clear and well-constructed vision for the show, and the with season 2 it seemed it was just kind of thrown together. It definitely did not leave me wanting more, and the ending made me feel like we would be getting more of the same in Season 3.
