Ahsoka's first two episodes are now streaming on Disney+, and the show wastes no time in revealing that Sabine Wren became Ahsoka Tano's Padawan following the events of Star Wars Rebels.
The animated series confirmed the Mandalorian was a capable warrior, with Kanan Jarrus and Ezra Bridger training her to wield the Darksaber. However, there weren't necessarily any indications she was Force-sensitive.
While this live-action follow-up has only just started pulling back the curtain on Sabine's time training with Ahsoka, she certainly manages to hold her own during the final few moments of "Master and Apprentice" in a lightsaber battle with the mysterious villain Shin Hati.
However, the fight ends with the Rebel being stabbed through the midsection, a wound the former Ghost crew member luckily manages to survive.

As she later works on repairing her relationship with Ahsoka (who walked away from Padawan for reasons that aren't currently clear), Huyang mentions that Sabine has very little way in the way of sensitivity with the Force, suggesting she's no Jedi.
Then again, neither is Ahsoka these days and there may be more to being a Padawan in her eyes than simply wielding the Force or following the rules once set out by the Jedi Council.
This is clearly a plot point set to continue playing out in the weeks ahead, but if Sabine is attuned to the Force, she could be a game-changer for this franchise moving forward. Rebuilding her and Ahsoka's friendship as the series continues looks to be central to the Dave Filoni-helmed series, anyway.
Both this series and Filoni's upcoming Star Wars movies are expected to explore new sides of the Force, and if the meaning of "Padawan" changes to encompass more than those who would traditionally be considered Jedi, that too should be worth keeping an eye on.
As noted, the first two episodes of Ahsoka are currently streaming on Disney+.
