STAR WARS: ANDOR Reportedly Adds THE BATMAN's Andy Serkis; Is A Return As Supreme Leader Snoke In The Works?

Andy Serkis played Supreme Leader Snoke in the Star Wars sequels, but a new report claims that the actor has lined up a role in Star Wars: Andor. The question is, will he play that villain or someone new?

Making Star Wars is reporting that Venom: Let There Be Carnage director and The Batman star Andy Serkis has been cast in the Star Wars: Andor series coming to Disney+. The actor lent his voice to Supreme Leader Snoke in the Star Wars sequels, but as a performer, he's very much a chameleon and could easily be playing a totally different character in this Galaxy Far, Far Away.

The site speculates that there's a possibility Serkis will appear as the original being Emperor Palpatine and his Sith cultists created that cloned body from. We know that "Snoke" was Force-sensitive, and it was for that reason he made a fitting, albeit temporary, host for the dastardly ruler of the Empire.

However, they note that it's just as likely Serkis could be playing a new human character.

It's worth noting that the events of Star Wars: Andor take place prior to Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, so it's highly unlikely Palpatine would have started cloning new bodies for himself at this stage. However, meeting the original "Snoke" would provide crucial backstory that was overlooked in the sequels (why, for example, did those cloners create a scarred host for the Emperor?).

This is just a rumour for now, but Palpatine kidnapping this Force-sensitive being and stealing his DNA for future use could make for an intriguing subplot. It would likely also tie into whatever Moff Gideon has been up to in The Mandalorian, but that's all speculation on our part.

Star Wars: Andor is set to be released on Disney+ in 2022.
