OBI-WAN KENOBI: Lucasfilm Reveals Identities Of Three Jedi Preserved Within Fortress Inquisitorius

One of Obi-Wan Kenobi's most shocking moments came when the title character discovered a tomb beneath Fortress Inquisitorius full of dead Jedi. Now, a new book has revealed the identities of three of them.

Obi-Wan Kenobi delivered a near-perfect story which not only deepened Star Wars mythology but saw us bear witness to perhaps the greatest lightsaber battle ever when the title character squared off with Darth Vader.

During the course of this series, we spent time with the Sith Inquistors (who don't look quite as good in live-action as they do in animation) and even got to take a peek inside Fortress Inquisitorius. However, it was what the Empire had hidden in its depths which left fans of this Galaxy reeling.

In the upcoming book Star Wars: Dawn of the Rebellion: The Visual Guide, it's confirmed (via SFFGazette.com) that this tomb is indeed filled with the bodies of "captive" Jedi, all of whom are preserved in amber.

While not explicitly stated, these fallen warriors are obviously dead - which is hardly a surprise - but this entry doesn't exactly elaborate on why they're there. Previously, fan theories have suggested they're being used as a means to hide the Fortress or somehow make the Sith more powerful.

While we wait for answers on that front, the identities of at least three of the Jedi have also been revealed.

The child we saw is Youngling Faris, and he's depicted still wearing the training helmet he had on the night the Jedi Temple was attacked by Anakin Skywalker and his Clone Troopers during Order 66.

The second is a Cosian male Jedi, Tera Sinube, who has been active since the High Republic Era. As many of you likely suspected at the time, this is the same Jedi who crossed paths with characters like Count Dooku and Ahsoka Tano in The Clone Wars

Finally, we have Valerie Tide. This book offers the most detail about her, revealing she went into hiding after the Great Jedi Purge. Despite changing her identity, she was eventually captured on Athio III after being identified as a Force user.

With any luck, we'll learn more about Fortress Inquisitorius and these fallen heroes down the line. After all, something must have become of it after the Empire fell...
