STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI Director Rian Johnson May Have Dropped A Spoiler For THE MANDALORIAN Season 2

Star Wars: The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson recently visited the set of The Mandalorian, and it appears as if the filmmaker has now dropped a spoiler for what's to come in season two. Check it out...

One of The Mandalorian's biggest talking points has been "Baby Yoda," and there's now a lot of excitement surrounding what the adorable character means for the wider Star Wars Universe.

During a recent interview to promote Knives Out, Star Wars: The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson revealed that he visited the set of the Disney+ TV series last month and seeing as filming is currently taking place on season two, there's a very good chance he's dropped a big spoiler!

"He’s amazing!" Johnson said after being asked about Star Wars' cutest new character. "I visited the set of ‘The Mandalorian’ a month ago, and I spotted Baby Yoda in the corner and the producer shot me a look as if to say, ‘you can’t say a word!’ I’ve been holding that secret in my heart for forever now. And the memes are amazing. I’m very pro-Baby Yoda."

Where's the spoiler? Well, if Johnson saw Baby Yoda on the set of the series just last month, that likely means the mysterious, Force-sensitive being will play a role in season two of the show. It's also possible that they just had the puppet lying around somewhere, of course, but it seems the main focus of The Mandalorian moving forward will be the Mando protecting this child.

@MUTO123 - Well it lets us know Baby Yoda is going to be a part of the show still. Really not a big deal, doubt anyone will seriously get mad.

@dracula - This sounds weird to me though. It says it was a recent interview. But how recent? Were they filming Season 2 last month? I though they only just started filming that.

Either way, he says it was last month that he visited the set. And he mentions a Baby Yoda puppet off in the corner. Then a producer tells him not to say a word. Then less than a month later he spills the beans?

It just seems weird because he then says he's been holding this secret forever and that he loves all the memes.

It almost sounds like he's known about Baby Yoda since they were filming Season 1, and now that the cat is out of the bag and the memes are everywhere he felt like he can talk about it.

It just doesn't strike me as if he was spoiling anything. He spills the beans, then is like relieved to finally be able to talk about it.

I could totally be wrong though.

So that means they're still keeping Johnson around? To be honest I don't mind really, I even think he is a good fit to take over the Jedi origin project from D&D

@MalseMarcel - maybe it's more like when Kevin Smith visits the set, just someone swinging by to check out the production. Or maybe RJ will helm an episode in season two.

Prediction: they reintroduce Boba Fett as the bounty hunter the empire hires to hunt down the Mandalorian for screwing them over. There will be a bit of a cat and mouse thing going, with Boba possibly recapturing baby Yoda at one point and the Mandalorian taking on Slave I in a dog fight and getting back the little guy.

@Canon108 - yeah because I'm sure the mandalorian will be scared of a guy whose prime skills involved ratting on han solo, hiding behind vader, leaning against a wall, pulling out a blaster when someone has a thermal detonator(all flex), being unable to shoot someone from two yards and being knocked into a sarlacc pit by a blind man.

@BountyCipher - everyone keeps missing the fact that boba Fett isn't a mandalorian, he's a clone of a poser in beskar armour

sickboy76 - 11/28/2019, 4:07 AM
@BountyCipher - if you gave baby yoda beskar armour, he'd be as much a mandalorian as boba fett😏
Canon108
Canon108 - 11/28/2019, 4:24 AM
@sickboy76 - maybe it was actually Jodo Kast.

@BountyCipher - seems pretty clear that no matter what beefs there are within the clan, attacks against one are attack against all. Biba fett attacking mando to prove he's a mandalorian to who? Himself? The clan won't have it

sickboy76 - 11/28/2019, 4:30 AM
@Canon108 - jodo kast is a differebt story altogether. Jango not being mandalorian is Canon.

@sickboy76 - it’s not even beskar armor. It’s durasteel—that’s also why Boba’s helmet has a dent in it.

The optimist in me still keeps holding on, because they might grow some sense and completely erase The Last Jedi. It's the only way I can pay any attention to Star Wars going forward in the timeline, and if that's never going to happen, then all this, even the stuff going back in time, is pointless.

But, that said, I saw the first few episodes of the Mandalorian, and it seems good.
