The Mandalorian returns to Disney+ on Friday, but critics won't be getting the chance to see season two ahead of everyone else. That was first shared by Slash Film's Peter Sciretta (see below), but we reached out to Disney and learned that it's a result of Lucasfilm not wanting anything spoiled.
The season one premiere was shared in advance, and while nothing about Baby Yoda was revealed online beforehand, many critics teased a big surprise at the end of the episode which, in itself, kind of spoiled what happened (it certainly left fans expecting something big to happen there).
Now, everyone is going to be on an equal footing, but it means we won't get to see any reviews in advance. That's usually a bad thing, though is unlikely to be with a show as great as The Mandalorian.
In season two, the Mandalorian and the Child continue their journey, facing enemies and rallying allies as they make their way through a dangerous galaxy in the tumultuous era after the collapse of the Galactic Empire. The Mandalorian stars Pedro Pascal, Gina Carano, Carl Weathers and Giancarlo Esposito, and the first three are highlighted here alongside The Child.
Needless to say, we'll be bringing you a review and recap of the premiere as soon as possible after it lands on Disney+ on Friday. In the meantime, you can check out our season one verdict HERE.
