Last we heard, the still untitled Disney+ Obi-Wan Kenobi series was scheduled to start shooting early next year, and it sounds like pre-production is starting to ramp up.
Star Ewan McGregor was a guest on the latest Happy Sad Confused podcast, and he told host Josh Horowitz that he's already donned the iconic Jedi Master's robes for a camera test while visiting the set of The Mandalorian with director Deborah Chow.
"It was funny walking on set because it was a lot of The Mandalorian crew and I walked on, and it was a big moment... I walked into the dressing room and there were my beige cloaks and my belts and boots and it was like, 'oh my God, it was my old costume', it was amazing.”
The Birds of Prey actor also mentioned that Obi-Wan is "going to adopt some of that technology they utilized" in the first live-action Star Wars series, confirming the use of the innovative Volume LED technology that ILM developed for the show.
Plot details for Obi-Wan Kenobi remain under wraps, but it is expected to focus on the legendary Jedi during his self-imposed exile on Tatooine. There are rumors that younger versions of both Luke Skywalker and Leia Organa will appear, but that's yet to be confirmed.
