We're going to have a lot more for you on The Mandalorian after today's jaw-dropping episode very soon, but let's talk about that post-credits scene for a second.
After some concept art-free credits, a stinger takes us back to Tatooine. It's Jabba the Hutt's palace, and Bib Fortuna - looking quite a bit fatter than when we last saw him - in now in charge after his master's death. Suddenly, those serving him are gunned down, and Fennec Shand arrives.
As you might expect, she's joined by Boba Fett. Fortuna expresses his surprise that the bounty hunter is still alive (for those of you wondering, this scene takes place after the events of The Mandalorian's season two finale, so its not a flashback of any sort), but is almost immediately gunned down by Boba.
Fett then sits on the "throne" with a smirking Fennec at his side, presumably cementing himself as Tatooine's new ruler. With that, the screen goes black, but there's one more surprise:
The Book of Boba Fett - Coming December 2021
We don't know whether this is a standalone story on Disney+ or a new miniseries, but it appears we might be getting a Boba Fett show instead of The Mandalorian season 3 as originally expected.
More details are bound to be revealed later, so stay tuned for much more when we have it.
