Guy Fowlkes Blows Up A Florida Fireworks Stand

Guy Fowlkes Blows Up A Florida Fireworks Stand

In a weird episode of life imitating art, a man who goes by the name of Guy Fowlkes decided to blow up a Florida fireworks stand over an altercation with his pregnant girlfriend and a co-worker...and its not even the 5th of November yet!

When the police arrived at the scene, he claimed he was having a seizure and did not remember his actions. At least he is not claiming his body was hacked by an unknown cyborg. #fail

An employee at a fireworks stand got into a fight with at least one other employee on Monday night and set off some of the explosive devices, Ocoee police said today.

Guy Swindell Fowlkes, 33, of Orlando, was working at the tent at Colonial Drive and Maguire Road but had made arrangements to work at another tent location, according to an arrest affidavit filed in the case. When his girlfriend asked about keys to a storage unit, Fowlkes said he did not have the keys and began an argument with her.
Fowlkes struck his girlfriend, who is pregnant, in the left side of her face, according to the report. He then went into the tent and began to light up fireworks, directing some of them at other employees. He also lit the fuse of two firecrackers and placed them inside the gas tank of an employee's car.

Charges against him in this incident include arson, aggravated domestic battery and battery on a pregnant female.

What is it with my state and V for Vendetta?
Recently, in my very own town, a guy held up a school board meeting, and spray painted the V on the wall.

@Msk something about the sunshine here that makes people a little bit too vengeful. I'm planning on taking out Albertsons because they sold me some bad milk last week.
@CrimsonDevilAIDS You are aware that V for Vendetta is a comic book right?

He should suffer the same fate as V did in the film. Shot up and crated onto a train loaded with explosives....send him somewhere special ;)

really not cbm related. I don't mind, I get frustrated at all the people who moan about things not being cbm related, as if its bad to have other news filter through. As if having a broader knowledge than just cbms is bad lol. But still this is only related in the same way a story about a wolverine dying in a zoo in Alberta might be cbm related news. Just saying this cos patriautism was giving CrimsonDevilAIDS (classy name) some stick.

This is all the Americans commenting I'm guessing. Cos it seems literally the only connection they can draw from something related to Guy Fawkes is a direct link to V for Vendetta.

I think there's too many losers who take this stuff seriously. The notion that most of us are somehow oppressed is ridiculous.

@patriautism Funny how a woman was the only one who tried to do something at the school board shooting.

@Bobby2889 We aren't all ignorant and think that this stuff comes just from movies, but obviously these psycho criminals do.

I'm a fairly conservative American but this crap is getting ridiculous. Stupid white trash and inner city thugs are ruining this country. Nobody does anything about it because they are part of a certain "constituency".

Cant we all just get along for once? Its a funny story. Not so funny for the pregnant chick who was attacked but still funny.

@Bobby2889

Sounds as if you're assuming that most Americans only know Fawkes from just "V for Vendetta".

lol no I'm not I just couldn't work out why people were talking like that was the case. Cos I appreciate its not but it just seems very random. If it had said they found a copy of V for Vendetta in his appartment or house or wherever he was at the time, that would be an interesting twist worth some speculation into the influences of media upon certain types of people. It seems tenious and that people have just picked up on the teniousness. like I said I don't mind non-cbm stuff here it was just more that I think CrimsonDevilAIDS was equally as entitled to express his confusion as to its place here as you are to defend it. It just seemed he got shot down was all.
To say 'you know V for Vendetta is a comic right' didnt seem to answer his query as he may not know of it and the article certainly didnt mention it. So I felt like he was either being sarcastic or if he genuinally didnt see the connections then we didn't offer him a conclusive reason as to the links to cbm parrallels in the article.. That was all.

I'd argue most Americas (and most Brits) haven't read V for Vendetta so that wasn't my point at all lol

I was being off topic and don't really have any beef or anything with anyone. So I shall move swiftly on...

on another note if you are gonna name your son in such a manner that it sounds like someone who planned to blow up a government establishment then you should query your own reasonings lol

@Bobby2889 - I'm with you man. I've never read V for Vendetta so when I saw the headline my first thought was this was an allusion to the nutjob that tried to blow up the British Parliament way back when. Of course, I'm a history nut :)

BTW, Alabama represent! :)
