It's been quiet on the
Venom movie frontier. We haven't got much news on the movie except that Topher Grace most likely won't be in it and Venom will be a "lethal protector" like he was in the 90's. Now, the Spider-Man film series is getting rebooted and it is unclear how this will affect the Venom Spin-off film as
Venom was wrote before the reboot was announced. Now here are my thoughts on the Spin-off...
Now, as it is now a reboot and will ignore the events of
Spider-Man 3, the screenwriters may have wrote a origin story of how Eddie Brock gets the symbiote on him, meaning that Spider-Man may make a guest appearence or a cameo. Of course we don't really want Venom to fight with Spider-Man for the whole movie, we want him to fight a certain villain... (more on that later). It is possible that the Spin-Off could be a film adaption of the comic book mini-series,
Venom: Lethal Protector since it has been announced that he will be an anti-hero in the movie. Andrew Garfield would hopefully play Spider-Man in the film as a cameo but to be honest, I think they should put the
Venom movie on hold for a couple of years. Why you ask? Because they could introduce Eddie Brock in the Spider-Man reboot or one of it's sequels and have him turn into Venom and they could re-write the screenplay somewhat, so it would fit in the reboot universe. Of course the film could also just ignore the Raimi trilogy and the Webb reboot.
Now as for the villain of the movie, it has to be Carnage. Carnage is Venom's most popular foe and to see them fight in a big screen film would be every fanboy's big dream. They should make the movie R rated of course so that way it would stay true to the comics and we could have a gory fight between Venom and Carnage that would be awesome! Seriously, who wouldn't want to see this:
These are just my thoughts on the movie and hopefully this movie will be made soon. Hopefully...that reboot hasn't [frick]ed up the screenplay for the movie. Oh and as for actors in the movie, I would pick Alexander Skarsgard for Venom/Eddie Brock and Robert Knepper for Carnage/Cletus Kassidy.
Well, thanks for reading and please, comments below :)
