OT but yeah Sony shills are what the Fox-men shills were to the MCU. It’s ridiculous. It’s crazy that Disney only wanted 25% but sony being sony ignored them for 6 months, but instead people are running with the “Disney wanted 50%) (when it was really a negotiation tactic) because narratives. Either way, both sides are looking bad for this right now and they need to figure something out...or not. If Sony was ran by more competent people I wouldn’t be so bad, but then again if it was ran by competent people they would’ve struck a deal instead of ignoring for 6 months....

Honestly I wish the best for Spidey, he’s my favorite superhero ever, I just don’t want him to be butchered again (Arad and Rothman have me worried), I don’t give a fck if people don’t like him because he’s “Ironboy jr”..they were setting him up to be independent which was his whole arc...ugh. anyways I hope Venom 2 is at least better than that painfully mediocre first one, and don’t be surprised if there’s a Tom Holland cameo as well.

@JustAChillDude - This is ridiculous it makes no sense for Sony to giv Disney anything. Regardless of quality they will still make more money in the long run than splitting anything with Disney.

James Gunn said it best. Its like buying a car from your neighbor, would you still let your neighbor drive his car after you bought it from him?

The answer is "hell [frick]ing no"!

It won’t, but I can still hope it flops.

@PlusUltra - If those terribly average DC films didnt flop, I doubt the Sony Verse will flop. Venom is still better than the worst DC film IMO and they all made a lot of money.

Like I said before, people are giving credit to Sony's competence in taking control again based on an animated movie. And even the game too. I can appreciate the hard work that went into both, but it is much easier to adapt the character faithfully in both mediums compared to film.

Oh, and lets not forget that now they're taking credit for The Boys in relation to Spidey as well.

They've done nothing in their live-action department to inspire confidence since 2004.

“Spider-Man fans are in desperate need of some good news after the wall-crawler's removal from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and now a new report reveals that Venom 2 is quickly starting to come together.”

So... where’s the good news?

as little Georgie would say if he worked at Sony: "we all flop down here."

I actually sat down and watched Venom from beginning to end a few days ago. And I honestly was thoroughly impressed and entertained. It's not Suicide Squad/Fan4stic/IM3 bad.

And it's obviously not a movie that takes itself seriously, but the franchise has potential. I'll watch the sequel.

@KWilly - Come on, we all know BVS is worse than all three of those flicks combined.

Feige saw the writing on the wall. "Spider-Man Far FRom Home is the REAL end of Phase 3". Can't build phase 4 around a character you're about to lose. He knew. And I'm kinda pissed he let the deal fall apart. As much as I dislike Sony, just doesn't seem like the type of thing he would just casually let happen.

I was entertained by Venom far from perfect but not the steaming pile of shit that I thought it would have been.

Fingers crossed that Venom 2 is superior in every way.
