The Animus is a machine driven by user's DNA, used by all of the protagonists from the Ubisoft's game series. It allows players to travel from the times of The Third Crusade to Elizabethan London. In the movie, the technology helps the main hero (Callum Lynch), played by Michael Fassbender, to come back to his ancestor's Spanish adventures. 

The spot released by 20th Century Fox features a lot of never seen before action, mostly set in the Middle Age's Spain. You can learn more about the priceless technology that brings the Assassin-Templar War into new century, down below:

I really hope this film is successful critically and financially. Love this franchise and I want Ubisoft to pave the way for awesome video game movies. Bring on Splinter Cell with Tom Hardy, Ubisoft!

@RancidBane - Amen! Mass Effect would do great as a Feature Film! My dream video game movies include Gears of War, Halo, and Bioshock. This Assassin's Creed film has a lot riding on it.
