We at CBM know that some of you are still big fans of the Fallout Video Game Franchise and despite some of the actions caused by the Fallout (pun intended) of Bethesda's latest issues, we have learned of a POTENTIAL SAFETY CONCERN that you need to be aware of for Cyber Monday.

If you were or weren't aware that on September 18th, earlier this year, GameStop asked for those who purchased the Nuka Cola version of the Fallout T-51 Helmet to voluntarily participate in a recall due to the dangerous concerns of mold buildup in the helmet's fabric inserts.

In their original recall statement, GameStop assured those that all Helmets that were sent back for a full refund would not be up for resale as stated in the Recall Q&A part of the release. A Screenshot of this a-for-mentioned statement within the Q&A Section is shown in the banner as proof.

HOWEVER, GameStop.com has now listed a "Refurbished version" of what we at CBM somewhat assume to be the recalled Fallout T-51 Nuka Cola Power Armor Helmet as part of its Cyber Monday Deal of the Day Specials.

The link to that deal is here

You will notice a few peculiar things that may be of concern.

  • That it is posted as both a refurbished Pre-Order but has no release date posted. The current listing showcases the original and sale price to be $49 instead of $99.
Most folks will know that GameStop ORIGINALLY listed the price for the Recalled Helmet as $149.99.

While the Helmet may have been fixed and is no longer a danger for those who are buying it, no details or description other than the photo have been released on the GameStop website.

This is a concern as the Q&A section of the recall stated that it would not be fixed or resold.

We at CBM know this item could simply be a placeholder for a helmet for the same model, but is just one that isn't a danger to wearers.

However, we wanted to share our concerns with those who may or may not be aware of the Helmet's past, regardless if it is indeed the same helmets that were recalled.

Once GameStop has updated the listing or has reached out, we will update this article to inform readers regarding this product's status.
