Uncharted was among the blockbusters delayed by the pandemic, but despite how universally loved Naughty Dog's video game franchise is, there's not been a ton of excitement for this one.
Much of that can be blamed on Mark Wahlberg's casting as Sully and Venom director Ruben Fleischer being at the helm, but you might think twice after checking out this newly leaked footage. Taken from a trailer that's reportedly set to arrive online officially tomorrow, we see Tom Holland recreating a scene from the Uncharted games as he hangs from cargo spilling out of a plane mid-flight.
The actor even delivers one of Nathan Drake's signature "Oh, crap!" moments, and those of you hoping this adaptation will homage the PlayStation franchise are unlikely to be disappointed. Throw in some undeniably funny humor, and we're beginning to think we wrote this off too soon.
Hopefully, the full trailer will arrive tomorrow because we're definitely curious to see more. A fresh take on the franchise with a younger Nate, this film isn't tied to the games but does feel like it could serve as a loose prequel based on what little has been revealed by Sony Pictures.
