VIDEO GAMES: Naughty Dog's PS4-Exclusive UNCHARTED 4: A THIEF'S END Gets Delayed

Delays have seemingly become the norm with next-gen video games, and this time it's Nathan Drake's next adventure Uncharted 4: A Thief's End that's been delayed a few months.

Last year, it was Rocksteady's Batman: Arkham Knight that got pushed back from October to this June and this year it's Naughty Dog's Uncharted 4: A Thief's End that gets the date shift from an undisclosed date in 2015 to Spring 2016. Earlier this morning, the game's directors Bruce Straley and Neil Druckmann released a Playstation blog post, which announced the new release window and also addressed why the delay had to happen. Check out their full blog post below:

Since we showed you our first gameplay reveal of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, more of the game and story have come together, and it’s become clear to us that this game is much more ambitious than we originally envisioned.

After spending so many years with Nathan Drake, he means a lot to the team, and telling the climactic chapter of his adventures is a task we don’t take lightly – this game deserves every bit of the attention to detail, precise pacing, and nuanced storytelling Naughty Dog is known for.

So we’ve made the difficult choice of pushing the game’s release date. Giving us a few extra months will make certain that Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End not only meets the team’s high standards but the high standards that gamers have come to expect from a Naughty Dog title.

Thank you for your patience – we know the extra wait will be excruciating, but you’ll see it will be worth it as we reveal more about Uncharted 4 over the next year. The team at Naughty Dog will be heads down working through 2015 making sure that Nathan Drake’s story gets the closure it deserves. Come Spring 2016, you and Nate are in for one thrilling, emotional ride.

While it is disappointing we won't get to see Nathan Drake's final adventure this calendar year, it should be reassuring to know that Naughty Dog, which has a great track record for producing high-quality games, is working their hardest on making a more perfect game for all our enjoyment.

What do you guys think? Sound off with your thoughts below!

Watch the first gameplay of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End. Several years after his last adventure, retired fortune hunter, Nathan Drake, is forced back into the world of thieves. With the stakes much more personal, Drake embarks on a globe-trotting journey in pursuit of a historical conspiracy behind a fabled pirate treasure. His greatest adventure will test his physical limits, his resolve, and ultimately what he’s willing to sacrifice to save the ones he loves. Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End will be available in 2015. Developed by Naughty Dog.

So Uncharted, Batman v Superman, Deadpool, Civil War, and Apocalypse all in the same time frame. I'm going to need more money.

I'm glad.
Better be sure that there's no bugs and glitches.
This year I'm getting busy with Metal Gear Solid, Batman and The Witcher.

Seen that coming.

I don't even think video games should get release dates anymore. I see no point of them.

Agreed. They're always delayed anyways, and if they're not they're full of bugs and glitches.

I just want to see what Sony's REAL exclusives are bringing to the table. I have faith in them but mannnnn its been slightly disappointing so far. Still a huge Sony fan though.

I'm okay with this. Uncharted 3 was released way too quickly imo. The story was ok and the newer combat system felt great but the game itself felt rushed. At least they're taking their time with Uncharted 4.

If there's one thing I know about Naughty Dog, it's that they care so much about their games, they won't release it before it's ready.

This game looks super good! I hope I don't fall through the map during ranked matches again and only have my face sticking out of the stairs.
