VIDEO GAMES: Could We See A Marvel VS DC Fighter From Capcom?

Speaking to Videogamer.com, Capcom Producer Yoshinori Ono revealed that a DC V Marvel fighter would be a "dream project" and hopes to one day get it up and running..

We have had Marvel VS Capcom, Mortal Kombat VS DC, but one thing gamers and comic book fans have always wanted was a chance to see Superman and The Hulk knock lumps out of each other in a Marvel VS DC fighter. Well we may actually see it, although no definite plans are in place yet.



From Capcom's Yoshinori Ono..

"But I've had a couple of dream projects in my head for a while, one being Street Fighter X Tekken, which is actually coming true. Another would be a Marvel vs DC game which would be pretty damned cool if we could ever pull it off. I'm a big comic-book fan,"

"Now if I can get the presidents of those two companies in the same room shaking hands, then we could get something started. I'd love to see that just as a fan!"


Street Fighter VS Tekken is a cool enough prospect but I really hope to see that "big two" clash at some point. What do you guys think? Who would be your ideal match ups?

making a comicbook of the two universes mixing it up together is one thing, but to come out with a fighting game against each other is another...as much as i would love to see this dream project come true, I just dont see it happening. Maybe it wouldve had a shot 10 years ago but now the competitive world between Marvel & DC is much stronger.

Personally, I can't believe they haven't made this. Both companies would make a ton of money off of it.

and its not like its saying either Marvel or DC characters are better than the other, because it would be up to the skill of the player, so I don't see what the problem would be.

oh well, even if they made it now, the DC characters would all be these terrible rebooted versions, so i guess i don't really care now.

@FriendlyNeighbourhoodJoSh Exactly, I payed $80 bucks for the Special Edition, and then bam, instead of giving the fans what we wanted, we though oh, well they'll release DLC, nope, we'll just make you pay $40 bucks for a new game, and put characters no one cares about in it, FOR [frick] SAKES!!! The DLC better be free, cause playing as [frick]ing Rocket Raccoon doesn't make up for not playing as the invincible 3, Venom, Gambit, and Hulk!

@EvilOlivE I seriously wanna punch you in the balls right now for saying that about Jim Lee cause he's my favorite artist of all time, but I kinda have to agree, he is turning into a douchebag. And that's coming from a guy who has no interest in the DC Universe beyond Batman, Nightwing, etc.

a Marvel vs. DC game should be more of a free roaming smash fest. Like throwing people through buildings and stuff. But still i would just be excited to play any Marvel vs. DC game :)

It could work as long as both parties are totally game and DC would agree to someone like Superman getting destroyed by someone like Daredevil (NOT taking anything away from DD, just.. power-wise.) Or even The Punisher.

phoenix wright is going to be awesome, and Capcom has been trying to put him in a game since tatsunoko vs. capcom.

But Venom really should have been added instead of Rocket Racoon or Hawkeye.
