To celebrate the 10 year anniversary of Lego Batman: The Videogame, WB Games, TT Games, Lego & DC Entertainment decides kick off the celebration with just one thing: A video game centering around the bad guys. With the game set to be released in a couple weeks, the company issued a press release of who's who for their all star voice acting talent, many of which includes the likes of a fan favorite you never seen before in a Lego video game, Mr. Kevin Conroy himself!
Back in July at this year's San-Diego Comic Con, it was announced that actor Michael Ironside would reprise his role as Darkseid in the game from the DC Animated Universe. News of his return has been well recived to both the fans and the public after a twelve year absence, but over the past few weeks, the Super-Villains spin-off to the
Lego Batman trilogy has been amping up it's massive star power. So today, WB Games announced officially a number of actors to be in part of the game's voice work, many of such includes reprisals from the
Batman Arkham games and the Justice League animated series.
While Ironside gets the top billing, he will be re-joined with the likes of his DCAU co-stars which of course includes of Clancy Brown (Lex Luthor), Mark Hamill (Joker), Michael Rosenbaum (Flash), Gilbert Gottfried (Mr. Mxyzpitlk) and marking his first time voicing the Lego incarnation of Batman, Kevin Conroy by taking over the role that was previously by fellow voice actor, Troy Baker. Also reprising their roles from the Arkham games and other DC properties includes Tara Strong (Harley Quinn), Wally Wingert (Riddler), Gina Torres (Superwoman), Tasia Valenza (Poison Ivy), Eric Bauza (Mr. Freeze), Tom Kane (Comissioner James Gordon), Mark Rolston (Deathstroke), Fred Tatasciore (Killer Croc, Doomsday), Julie Nathason (Silver Banshee) and C. Thomas Howell (Reverse-Flash/Professor Zoom). While on the Lego front of things, Fred Tatasciore also will reprise Clayface from 2012's
Lego Batman 2: DC Super-Heroes along with Scott Porter reprising Aquaman from 2014's
Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham and of course Travis Willingham returing as Superman. J.B. Blanc will not only reprise his role as Penguin, but will also voice Ra's al Ghul and Solovar in the game.
Onto original castings, after being Superman in
Superman Returns and currently the Atom on the CW's DC TV Universe, Brandon Routh will now take the reigns of the big red cheese himself, Shazam! While voice actress Cissy Jones will voice reporter Lois Lane and voice actor Lex Lang will voice the Crime Syndicate member making his video game debut, Deathstorm. The game will also be promoted at New York Comic-Con next weekend, in attendance includes of voice actress juggernaut Grey DeLisle-Griffin (Catwoman, Lashina), Nyambi Nyambi (John Stewart) and Dee Bradley Baker (Desaad, Clock King).
The game will be invading stores in North America on October 16th, and worldwide on October 19th.
