Wanted 2 Writers Expect Director Timur Bekmambetov To Return To Helm Sequel! Wanted 2 Writers Expect Director Timur Bekmambetov To Return To Helm Sequel!

While many fans of the comic didn't take too kindly to the 2008 adaptation of Mark Millar's Wanted (it took a fair few liberties with the source material) it WAS a financial success, and we recently heard that a sequel would be going ahead. So, with the script currently being worked on, what of director Timur Bekmambetov? "Hopefully, Timur will come back on to direct," co-screenwriter Michael Brandt told Coming Soon in a recent interview. "You write it with Timur's sensibility and try to give him the most leeway to do what he does really well."

"We're just writing the script right now. We're hoping that it's going to be Timur directing," added writing partner, Derek Haas. "I think Michael and I are going to strong-arm him into Universal and make him do it. We're writing and basically picking Wesley up a few years after the events of the first movie and throwing him back into that world." For more, be sure to click on the link below. they should only make it if they can get James McAvoy back as Wesley. No recasts!

They should make the sequel a little bit closer to the book because as much as I enjoyed the movie which I did a lot I just couldn't get over how far it was from the book. The original film should be the origin of Wesley and the second he can meet characters from the book.

I really enjoyed the first movie, even though it ignored the source material. So I could care less if a sequel gets made or not.

i dont think they could stick to the story from the comic it would not work for the general public( thats non CBM fans )they would just not understand whats going on and who was who.
just think of it like the italian job remake totally different except in name and besides i think wanted was a pretty good movie after a couple of watches

This movie is not going to happen without Angelina Jolie even if they bring everyone back from the first movie besides her. She is the whole reason the first movie did so well at the box office even though it was pretty good.

Dr. James you have it backwards. The comic was amazing, the movie was pure hollywood shit. I knew it wouldn't even be close to the original storyline, but I couldn't believe it was as bad as it was.

As someone who never read the comic, I actually like the movie. I read the comic after seeing the movie, and still enjoyed it.

I was dissapointed with the movie. MacAvoy did a good job, but they really should have stuck to the comic. THAT would have kicked ass.
