Fox News Reveal Plans For A Wonder Woman Movie?

[frick] her new costume!!! Oh and [frick] Donner too!!! It's not because it isn't as patriotic as it used to be, since being a Canadian i really couldn't care less about the portrayal of USA's patriotism, it's because it flat out SUCKS!!! Christ, it looks like something Donna Troy would wear! Seriously, with all the crappy development the character has been given through the ages, all it had going for it was her ICONIC costume. Sure, some tweeks to keep up with the times or to adapt it to a certain greek culture would be nice but THIS?!?!?!?!

The new costume is flat out blasphemous. THIS should be used for her new costume in comics as well as in movies:

Still, this won't happen and we can be thankful. Jazzing up the character to appeal to the youth market, mentioning celebrity appeal, TWIlight. None of those reasons appeal to me.

Fabs- Have you ever seen a hero wearing an actual US flag, and not just the flags colors & stars? Me neither.

ToughGrappler- I'm not talking about her book that no worthy writer wishes to write, i'm talking about her character which was ICONICALLY portrayed all over the place in DC comics, not only in her own. Her books suck, not because of her but because of what the creative teams in charge of it actually do with it. YOU don't think she's iconic JUST BECAUSE her sucky ass books don't sell. That's YOU'RE perception of her, and it's a very biased one at that. YOU are projecting YOUR thoughts of the character on the rest of us and that's the "F-ing truth".

Shaman- Flag regulations refer to any design inspired by the flag. Doesn't have to actually be the flag. If you can clearly recognize the elements as flag elements then it's breaking regulations. So Captain America, Wonder-woman, Captain Britain, Alpha flight etc etc are all breaking flag regulations.

I bet people who aren't fans of the genre (but know who WW is) will look at this new costume and say....
"That's supposed to be Wonder Woman? Well that doesn't look like Wonder Woman! That's just stupid why would change something as recognizable as Wonder Woman?! Someone Needs An Azzbeating!!

ToughGrappler- Teabag as the correct definition of the word "iconic". Your definition is what it means to be "popular". Nowhere does it say that "iconic" goes along side "profit". So just because you hate the character and you think that others do too because her own books don't sell, doesn't make her any less iconic. True, she's not the most popular character in comics today, but she is part of some of the most iconic ones.

That is a good point, but we are talking about her looks and costume here. As a character, her details don't need to be known to the world for her to be concidered iconic. And you also have to understand that the characters that you named are known to the world because they already HAVE had box office movies made about them and plenty of tv series, live & animated. That's how the rest of the world knows about the details of those heroes. Not because of their comics' sales.

ToughGrappler- But that's not because people don't like her. What have the studios given the public for them to show their love of the character to? The studios didn't make a recent show about her and sure as hell haven't made any movies about her so how can you eevn compare her to Superman, Batman and Spider-man? And if people truly didn't like her, why would so many of them have wanted to see her on Smallville? WW's tv show is world reknowned as a fan favorite just as much as Flash's. People in general have always liked it. But the studios don't give a shit. Flash is very popular but where's his movie??? In fact, in the eyes of everybody, WW is still more popular than Green Lantern. And the only thing that will change that will be his movie. That just means that if WW gets her own movie, it has a very good chance of surpassing Green Lantern's profits at the box office. Just on account of nostalgia it would make as much money as GL. And if the story they come up with is any good, it would definitely surpass it.
