Megan Gale Will NOT Be Playing Wonder Woman

SHE won't be playing Wonder Woman, but glamour girl Megan Gale is making a move into movies nevertheless.

Wonder Woman hopeful Megan Gale is now out of the running for the Amazonian princess. The model turned actress was cast as the comic crime fighter in the big budget flick Justice League: Mortal in 2007, but unfortunately that has been put on hold until furthur notice.

But don't worry Gale will finally star in her first movie. She garnered a part in low-budget romantic comedy I Love You Too, written by Rove comedian Peter Helliar, the supermodel will begin work on the production next month and be joined by Brendan Cowell - better known as Rose Byrne's handbag - and Yvonne Strahovski, who has found fame in the US on TV show Chuck.

Gale will play an Italian beauty with whom a love letter-writing dwarf falls in love.

Well perhaps if Megan Gale proves her acting abilities before Wonder Woman is cast, who knows she may don the tiarra and bracelets after all.

I think this is good news for everyone. Megan wouldn't be a great lead actress like that, although she would look fantastic in the part.

This is great news! And this is also possibly bad news. If she is a good actress, as proved by this new rom-com, she will have missed the window of opportunity to play in Silver's WW. However, its also great because...she's UNPROVEN!

Liv Tyler? As in, Betty Ross from Hulk? Eh, no! Gale looks damn fine as She Hulk..and WW. But a damn rom com is not the greatest stage to show off acting chops, shel prob just pout and wiggle her ass in this movie.

As far as Megan Gale, I was all for it visually. I have never seen her act and i dont think a romantic comedy has ever been proving grounds for anyone's acting ability. She hulk is going to be tricky. You'd have to find the PERFECT female. In between sexy/muscular and muscularly/scary is a thin line. The PERFECT skin color is key. There is also a thin line between hulk-green and dead zombie-green... and hunter green and green lantern green and tommyknockers green. In the pics above, Gale has tommyknockers green. hohohohohohohohohoho

I really didn't have any hope for Megan Gale to get the Wonder Woman role. To have a role there has necesarily to be a movie in first place, and Justice League and Wonder Woman are the most delayed projects I have ever seen. You are right when you say that a romantic comedy is a bad field to prove acting abilities: the characters I remember more vividly are psychopaths, madmen, murderers, isolated women against tagic fates...

¿Megan Gale for She-Hulk? We should ask ourselves first: ¿Do we need a She-Hulk appearence on movie? I would rather see her as Big Barda than as She-Hulk; the green one is good in comics, but I don't see room for her in an avengers film or in a solo movie. On the other hand, Barda is an important character in the New Gods.

Coming back to Wonder Woman, I am starting to suspect than we won't see it this year or the next one, but we have one reason to "expect" it for 2011: it is the 70th anniversary character, and a good movie would be the ideal celebration.

Perhaps I am too hopeful: with only a drop of information I have guessed three paragraphs, but Hollywood people should encourage a bit more in this matter.

dont be too worried about the rom-com because its being written by peter heliar and if its his usual style of humour (which i would expect it would be) than it wont be a rom-com in the traditional sense.

also i hope that Megans boyfriend Andy and his comedy partner Hamish are in it because those guys are the best.

Rorshach: What's wrong with a little wiggle and pout? Ok just kidding. It might be enough to see even potential was my point. I'd be looking for timing, expression, and delivery. Something like WW would require a range of a seasoned actress, agreed, but at least through the rom-com I'd know she didn't totally suck. That is, she would have potential. As it is, I don't know if she could sell me Welch's Grape Juice!

Yes, Jody Lynn O'Keefe is great, but I wonder how many people think (me, for example :D) that after seeing Prison Break she looks like pure evil.

¿Sofia Vergara? After reading a bit here about casts and choices and proposing some of them, I have realized that it isn't difficult to find an actress or a hundred, all of them beautiful. Talent is the greatest edge. Does she have it? I hope so, because she looks very well indeed.

The thing about all those pics, they look like cheap, but even in the real movie, they would probably still look like that, I mean, there really isn't anything to she hulk, shes green.... I mean I think of that old hulk show buff guy painted green looking like and idiot, but those do look good, just like she hulk lol great job on the Photoshop.

I don't know I just keep thinking of being at the movies, looking around at everyone and thinking..... shes just... painted green....... and not really being able to see the character... just some green chick... and trying not to laugh.

SirPrize- Sorry to disagree with you there, i feel she's not that scrawny and compared to Gale, O'Keefe is 5'10" and can kick an ass at the drop of a dime. She's a kickboxer :) Something i feel is more manditory than being 6' tall and have huge tits. Plus they can CGI the tits for the movie.

cgi tits... hilarious. You're great @Betty.

With Jody you can put on practice that old flirt strategy:

(To the hottest woman in the room):
"I would rather die than sleep with you"- Oh, really? -Well, if you insist...

The same thing Yohon Kalic said about she-hulk could be applied for Wonder Woman: we know her main features, but every artist draws her as he wants, as long a he respects those characteristics. She has long black hair, but plain or curly? She has blue eyes, but paler or darker blue? She is tall, but 1.75 or 1.85 meters? Even the tiara and her bracelets vary their width and length.

We have them smaller or bigger, but there they are: material tolerance.

But a post isn't a post without some pictures, so here we go...

Though, someone that conveys that they can turn whore-ish on a whim. That wouldn't be wrong, because in the present, she would NOT be a whore...though she could be turned. By, say, Steve Rogers.
KeepItReal

"though she could be turned. By, say, Steve Rogers."

Please, it is Steve Trevor. You keep saying Steve Rogers. No offense, but it drives me nuts is all.

Can Wonder Woman be turned whorish? She is a superhero, she would remain a role model. To turn whorish? Could batman turn serial killer if he hooked up with Selena? Superman serial killer? on a whim? No, (I think) because they are superheroes and so remain role models. So why would Wonder Woman become whorish? & with Steve Trevor?! (lol). Just my thoughts on it.

Women have the potential as all people have the potential but some do resist the whim. Some, it's not in them to be a whore, some its natural to them- second nature. Since Wonder Woman is not like most women, I think we agree, I dont see her turning whorish. IMHO. You really think so. I thought you loved Wonder Woman too? sniff sniff (lol).

And if Jody Lynn is too "scrawny" (I dont think so megan gale is more so) she could always gain the weight necessary. If not Jody then Ivana Milicevic like Mer said.

LOL!!!

Sorry KIR. ROFLOL! I'll apologize for two things. 1. Steve Trevor. All American heroes that were developed 40 years ago and earlier seemed to have the name Steve. I can jumble them up sometimes. Austin, Trevor, Rogers. 2. I was giving tongue-in-cheek response to Scarlett. I was only teasing. I wasn't serious about WW being a whore in the slightest. Sometimes, if one isn't too skillful, sarcasm does't translate well to the written word as it would with spoken inflection. I totally agree with you and the role model responsibility of these characters. I would actually hate to see careless treatment of WW.
KeepItReal
KeepItReal - 5/10/2009, 1:58 PM
WHEW!! I was not relishing another confrontation but I had to defend my Wonder Woman! lol!!! I am glad we both don't want careless treatment of her. =:) I apologize too.

Steve Austin, Steve Trevor... Buck Rogers? (I am showing my age haha!!) **Thank you for responding**
Phinehas
Phinehas - 5/10/2009, 5:29 PM
No need to apologize too. Defending Wonder Woman's honor can be daunting amongst fools. Like I said, I didn't make myself clear. But from now on, if there is a percieved deviation, rest assured that I am probably joking somehow. lol

Steve Rogers is Captain America. I spend time there too! You could see how I could mix the two. Both from the same era. Both fighting Nazis. Both blond. lol
Yeah! Buck Rogers! Last name was common too!
KeepItReal
KeepItReal - 5/10/2009, 10:22 PM
Oh, Captain America! I didnt know his name was Steve Rogers! Yes, I can see how the two can be confused! LOL... Thanks for the heads up! =:)

I only know about him from the Avengers & his song. "when captain america throws his mighty shield..." The lil I do know I like. I have to get cracken on that though because my son has chosen him as one of his favorites! And Batman, Wolverine, Spiderman, Hulk and he likes the JOKER?!! THAT makes me nervous! haha..I have collected quiet a few comics & movies for him for when he gets older. He likes them alot now.

It's May 2009 and I haven't heard a peep out of Hollywood on the status of the Wonder Woman project. Where are they in the process now? They need to consider the action, pacing, story threads, and humor of the new Star Trek film for Wonder Woman, since audiences these days want it all in their action flicks. Not too cerebral, not too preachy, not all action and no character development. The origin story is basically written, it just needs some Hollywood updating and tweaking to appeal to today's special effects-savy audience. WB also needs to come to the realization that casting an unknown actress is going to give the character the boost it needs. Audiences will be going to see Wonder Woman, not Suzy Bigtime Actress AS Wonder Woman. That's one of the reasons, I believe, that Electra and Catwoman flopped, among other things like bad writing and uncompelling acting.
Phinehas
Phinehas - 5/11/2009, 12:16 AM
I like a good action sequence like the next guy. However, without a good script I will lose interest...fast! So, I don't mind cerebral. A little drama and even melodrama would be suiting in this case. Except for a few flaws, the animated WW film was quite good. A live action in the same vein would equally be satisfying to me, except for better editing and explanations. For example, in the animated, the invisible jet just decends without explanation. Now, I know because I'm familiar with the story, but the average person wouldn't have a clue. Tings like dat.
Merinator
Merinator - 5/11/2009, 5:56 AM
I think, ( I hope I'm right) that the clue here is the script. And the clue to the right script is to be preachy but not pompous. She is also a peace ambassador after all. Something as the Batman Begins script, what do you think?

About my choice of Ivana Milicevic, I can explain it: she is tall, looks the part, and has an extent curriculum of supporting roles; that means she is a professional actress, but she hasn't had a main role yet. So, if she gets Wonder Woman, she will do anything to be great and make herself a recognized name, I mean, playing Wonder Woman is a huge opportunity. And that includes training, martial arts, acting and perhaps even her own stunts: everything to make Wonder Woman the most perfect possible. Of course the same thing goes for Jody Lynn and most of the hopefuls we have named.

Yes, it s May 2009 and I haven't heard any real news since 3/28/2009, so I think there are two reasonable explanations: they are working really hard with no contact with the outer world, or they are doing nothing. I wonder which one is the answer...

Megan Gale still has my vote! Instead of waiting til the end of days for a Justice League movie to be realized by Hollywood, why not just give her the starring role in a solo feature, like Wonder Woman?! She seems to have the looks and attitude to do the role some justice, so to speak. As far as I'm concerned, casting the role of Diana, with a wildly known actress, such as Charlize Theron or Angelina Jolie, simply detracts from the character's believability factor on screen. In my eyes, the focus needs to be on being able to suspend disbelief long enough to believe that this woman in front of you on the silver screen TRULY IS Wonder Woman and not "Jane Actress AS Wonder Woman." It worked famously for Lynda Carter as did it for Christopher Reeves.
