WONDER WOMAN First Reactions Are In - Find Out What Critics Thought Of The Amazon Warrior's First Solo Outing

Well, the first word on Wonder Woman is... overwhelmingly positive! Yes indeed, critics and bloggers that were lucky enough to have caught and early screening of Patty Jenkins' film all seemed to enjoy the Hades out of it.

Star Gal Gadot comes in for the highest praise (how about that?), and her chemistry with Chris Pine's Steve Trevor is said to be a highlight. In fact, many are hailing it as the best DCEU film yet - though some of you probably won't see that as a difficult accomplishment.

We gathered some of the reactions together below, and if they seem a little one-sided that's because we honestly couldn't find any negative early thoughts on this movie. If you do, be sure to let us know.

Someone mentioned that WB only showed the movie to comicbook friendly sites like Collider, Heroic Hollywood, iO9, Buzzfeed which most of the time all love comicbook films.

WB has yet to show it to main critics like Variety, THR, yet.

So good chance comicbook fans will love Wonder Woman but the general audience may still be a ?

Think it will be good for general audiences though.

@XKnight

They show to everyone, the other critics are seeing Pirates right now, they probably tweet their reactions a couple of hours later.

@Kr08 -

There's going to be a lot more emphasis on Wonder Woman now in future Justice League marketing to capitalize on the positive receptions!

Hmm... think maybe all those JL reshoots are so that WB can add more WW?

@Jordanstine - Everyone keep in mind the early "twitter reviews" on BvS and Suicide Squad claimed they would be the best films of the year. We know how that turned out.

Don't get too hyped, temper excitement and hope a bit or they will rip your hearts out if this movie gets panned by critics again.

I have no faith in WB or Snyder, so Patty can turn this around for me and many others if the movie is solid. It does not have to be great, just solid and fun!

@McGee - What does fail imply? Suicide squad was f##king horrid, yet people went to see it and it did well financially.

I want this movie to be great. I watched Linda Carter as a kid and she was amazing. Gal is not the best choice, nor am I a fan of her acting, but I do have faith in Patty and I think she can bring out the best in Gal. I am hopeful, but tempering it to keep myself grounded. I don't want to walk into another BvS scenario. That movie could have been absolutely amazing and it ended up craptastic.

How about we go see the movie together and just 69 through the entire thing?

@TheGoat - Those were fan twitter reactions, these guys are actually industry people.. So far this is a wonderful sign.

@Deonox - Hey I'm hopeful, but I will temper it for now. Still weeks to go. Let's hope they see the good will coming towards the movie and allow reviews. If they wait until the day before, I'm out.

@TheGoat - who cares if something you like is panned by "critics"

@UlisesMX - I think you missed my comment about critics as a whole are pretentious wind bags, but there are a few I tend to like who have similar feelings towards films. With that in mind, if a movie is torn apart, it usually does suck. I was not a fan of BvS and SS was horrid. Critics were not far from nailing those.

I hope WW kicks ass. I hope it makes serious bank. I hope it sparks DC and they put more heart into their movies. I hope Patty stays on to be more involved in other films. Lots of hope riding on this film for me and I hope it delivers on everything.
