This is the running review written by The Tyrant Boss at TyrantBossMedia. He wrote this as he was watching the movie.
It is pretty interesting to see that perspective.

SPOILERS!!! STOP READING IF YOU WANT TO AVOID THEM!

I already cut and pasted a few of the highlights from this review in the message boards, but here are a few that stand out.

"My first big issue with Wonder Woman is they rushed the set up and leaving the island with Steve Trevor.

It was. "No Diana, you can't go." then suddenly..... "Yeah I'm going" and "I know and we can't stop you. Bye."

Didn't need to see her as a little kid. There was no point. As if the fade through from her adult face to her child face wasn't enough of an obvious transition we had to have everyone in town shout, "Hi Diana!" and then have her mother call to her as well over and over."

---

"So if Wonder Woman kills Ares and the war ends, then explain World War II, Vietnam War, etc.  In the Thousands of years and the 100 years war and other major wars worldwide…an Amazon NEVER left the island to stop Ares who clearly caused those wars too?"

---

"The Amazons were trained to be warriors. Of course they would know that innocents sometimes die. They are trying to dance between naive and Mary Sue with Diana. The writing is weak."

---

"At least Steve Trevor’s sacrifice was written better than Steve Rogers sacrifice in First Avenger."

---

"Question: If Wonder Woman can beat a GOD…the GOD OF WAR and she is only a Titan or Demi-God…..then what’s left for her? She’s peaked. Once you beat the GOD OF WAR…you can beat anyone.

And if she can beat the God of War then how come she had such a tough time with Doomsday?"

Here is the full review. Enjoy. I sure did.

There are a LOT of inconsistencies and peculiarities the film creates with regard to Diana and her mythology. That is what I do not like most (even though I liked the movie overall). Critics and fans glossed over the MAJOR problems with her mythology as well as the blatant scenes shamelessly ripped off from other movies.

1) We meet Diana when she was VERY young. According to the story Zeus "created" her right before he dies. So Zeus died in the early 1900's?

2) Wonder Woman kills Ludendorff (Danny Huston) because she thinks he is Ares. He isn't! This is almost BVS Batman irresponsible. Even if you say ..."well Ludendorff was a bad guy who was killing people"... Diana was given the opportunity to kill Dr. Poison, but chose not to...so apparently that is wrong.

3) Diana is trained to fight and kill...but is horrified by violence?

4) Diana is able to take a heat vision blast from Doomsday in BVS (after cutting off his arm) and block lighting with her bracelets from Ares. Yet in the battle on the beaches of Themyscira, it seems like Wonder Woman is wounded by a bullet? If she can block high energy blasts with just her bracelets, then why does she need a shield?

5) While saving a village, Steve Trevor and his gang use a metal sheet as Trevor shouts "shield" to boost Wonder Woman to the top of a building. WHY? She already showed she could jump very far and high without a boost, which she did on Themyscira to claim her sword. This scene added nothing to the story.

6) If the sword is NOT the "god killer" (and Hippolyta knew it) why was it kept in a secured temple and put on a pedestal? Just to trick Diana?

7) Are the Amazons themselves gods? Given they live a long time yet seem as frail as any human...what exactly was the reason for them being created?

8) It is hinted at that Diana cannot go back to Themyscira...but it is never explained why.

9) Diana claimed that killing Ares would lead to peace. But then the audience is given a speech about how war it is within human nature. So Diana's mission is ultimately undercut. She set out to stop the war by killing Ares, but that does not stop the war so what was the point? Other wars followed...

10) Finally, Wonder Woman stole effective scenes and themes from many movies including Donner's Superman, Captain America, and perhaps Spiderman. And even her walk across "no man's land was eerily reminiscent of this short video from Rainfall Films

@Forthas -
1."So Zeus left us a weapon, one powerful enough to kill a god. With his dying breathe, Zeus created this island to hide us from the outside world, somewhere Ares could not find us."
She didn't say when he left them a weapon, or in what form it was originally. Perhaps it was something they could fuse with what they needed depending on when or how they needed it, and Hippolyta chose to use it to bring life to her clay sculpture. Who knows?

2. Batman believes what he believes, WonderWoman believes what she believes. She kills when bad guys are in her way. Batman tries harder not to.

3. She's not horrified of violence, she's horrified by how she sees men using it and on innocents. In self defense or defending others, violence can be the right course of action. When attacking a village of people who just want to live on the land they rightfully own peacefully, it's not.

4. Hmm, that seems like a good point. I'm not sure on this one. Of course, I try to pretend BvS never happened.

5. Yep, I thought that was pretty dumb. Those guys couldn't have supported that sheet enough to "boost" her up there. I think just maybe she used her flight ability she sensed in herself to make that jump without putting full pressure on those poor mortal guys trying to help, but that's just a personal theory.

6. The sheild also wasn't the "God-Killer". She never told Diana the sword was the god-killer. Diana assumed it was and Hippolyta was able to avoid telling Dianna who she was, so she let Dianna keep thinking that.

7. They aren't gods apparently. They were originally beings to bring love supposedly. You can see evidence that this is in their nature in how they live as seen when Diana was young. But, after failing to stop war and becoming enslaved, they broke free and prepared for the day when wars would find them, by becoming excellent fighters.

8. It was said that she "may never return". Well, we just don't know that yet. Probably something to do with the nature of the mystical protective thing around their island or perhaps portal to the world Zeus placed them on??? Whatever it is, I'm sure you could find an explanation in the comic books. Maybe multiple versions of different explanations for why one can't easily return once left.

9. Well, she did kill Ares. That is something. He was eternally damned determined to end all mankind and any gods who didnt agree to help him do so. He may not have been the one pulling the trigger, but he was the one making sure every bad guy who wanted to pull the trigger had the worst most destructive weapon possible to do so. So, she didn't accomplish her original goal. She will instead try to promote love and empathy to mankind while defending those who can't defend themselves. It's the best she can do really.

10. How can anyone make a superhero movie that doesn't get this accusation? I don't know what exactly you feel was ripped off. I suppose the alley scene is one. Yeah, sure. Who cares? Similar situation to Superman the Movie's alley scene, but, meh, really who cares? I don't. It was great and wasn't identical to that one. If you only focus on avoiding what's been done before all the time, your movie will suck most likely. And so she kinda used that scene in Superman as inspiration. I would say more power to her. It turned out good and felt right.

You forgot to mention that it was kinda actually a Steve Trevor movie. He was the real hero of the story. WW was just a strong secondary character.
