James McAvoy Hints At An X-MEN Return This Summer, But Is It For NEW MUTANTS Or An APOCALYPSE Sequel?
It's been heavily rumored that James McAvoy would be reprising his role as Charles Xavier in either Josh Boone's New Mutants or in another X-Men film, and yesterday, McAvoy added fuel to the fire.
While 20th Century Fox has remained mum on the matter, it's been widely rumored for a few months now that X-Men star James McAvoy would return as Charles Xavier in Josh Boone's New Mutants, and now, we may finally have some sort of confirmation.
Yesterday, McAvoy shared a photo of himself having dinner with X-Men producer Simon Kinberg with a caption that read: "Dinner last night with the man who's in a multi-generational three-way relationship with two professors. Thanks for dinner @simondavidkinberg and @hutch.parker, I can't wait for the summer." It's uncertain whether or not he's actually referring to the upcoming New Mutants spin-off or if he's talking about the rumored X-Men: Supernova, but it's probably a pretty safe that McAvoy is definitely filming something set in the X-Men universe at some point this summer.

New Mutants is probably the more likely of the two, especially considering production has already been slated to begin in May of this year, although it's not out of the realm of possibility that he may be filming both New Mutants and the mysterious Supernova back-to-back.
