More Evidence Points To X-MEN: DARK PHOENIX Being Released As A Two-Part Movie

Following Olivia Munn's comments about X-Men: Dark Phoenix being a two-part movie, a new report has provided more evidence in regards to that being the case! Hit the jump for everything we know so far...

Last night, Olivia Munn seemingly let it slip that Simon Kinberg's take on The Dark Phoenix Saga will be released in two parts and now a new report provides further evidence in regards to that being the case. According to Universo X-Men, one of the movie's extras has revealed that the studio is planning on bringing them all back shortly after the first movie finishes shooting for a second instalment.

Apparently, the plan is to wait for the winter to pass in Montreal and then for filming to resume either early next year or near the summer for the second part of the story to hit
theaters soon after in 2019.

Should we believe this? Well, it makes sense. Fox has set an untitled Marvel movie to be released exactly one year after X-Men: Dark Phoenix hits
theaters and you can understand why they would want to try and imitate what Marvel Studios is doing over the next two years with Avengers: Infinity War

This news definitely points to Fox having faith in Simon Kinberg being able to deliver the goods with this new take on the iconic story and it's certainly grand enough to be split in two! I'm going to remain pessimistic. This is going to directed by the guy who wrote Fant4stic, Apocalypse and the Last Stand. He wrote Days of Future Past but I'm convinced Bryan Singer pushed him to write a good script. I heard the draft he wrote after Matthew Vaughn left was horrible.

In all honesty this is the story that deserves two parts. This could be the reason why Kinberg made comments before about this not being too cosmic because if I remember correctly most of the cosmic stuff comes later on in the Phoenix Saga and especially at the end. If they really truly plan on doing this right it's a good idea, but the first part has to be good and I'm not all too sold on it being good haha

@Doomsday8888 - didn't kinberg supposedly direct the reshoots for F4? That worked out great. Fox is doing their best to save money, to the point where they're left letting kinberg direct. To me he is poison to the franchise. Deadpool, X force, new mutants, that's what I'm excited for from fox

Off-topic: currently watching Pirates 5.

Question: if dead men tell no tales, why is there a scene of a dead man telling a tale?
