Simon Kinberg Offers Updates On Plans For X-MEN: DARK PHOENIX, X-FORCE, And The Long-Delayed GAMBIT

Thanks to Entertainment Weekly, we have some new updates on a variety of upcoming Marvel movies currently in the works at 21st Century Fox. While it's fair to say that the vast majority of them will probably never see the light of day due to the Fox/Disney merger, producer Simon Kinberg remains positive (and you can't really blame him considering the fact that it's business as usual for now).

Talking about those reshoots for X-Men: Dark Phoenix - which Kinberg is also directing - he did his best to make it sound like we shouldn't be too concerned about them. "It’s normal for all these big movies now," he revealed during a recent interview with the site. "We’ll go back when we can get all those actors together, and then it will give me enough time to have it ready and looking perfect."

As for that long-delayed Gambit movie, it's still in the works (really) and Kinberg promises that some good progress has been made recently. "We have a really great script for that, and we’ve met with a bunch of directors in the last couple of weeks." At this stage, we'll simply believe it when we see it.

Finally, talk turned to X-Force and despite the fact that the team will come together for the first time in Deadpool 2, the producer is still mulling over team ideas for Drew Goddard's planned spinoff. "Drew, Ryan, and I sat down and talked quite a bit about what X-Force would be, but we haven’t on settled who those characters are yet. But certainly we’d want Cable and Domino to be part of it."

Talking of Cable, here's a brand new shot of the character in action in this month's Deadpool 2.
